Description

Farid was a young soldier hardened by years of fighting on the front lines outside of Tomakul. Although he maintained the façade of a loyal Tomakul Spear, he was far more focused on his survival than the Empire's victory.

He had a deep hatred for Ashnod's transmogrants, considering them to be desecrations of fallen soldiers.

Farid spoke Fallaji and some Argivian.

History

Farid was born after the Brothers' War had already begun. He joined D Company of the Third Tomakul Spears "some months" before the start of winter in 42 or 43 AR and served on the Mardun front as it pushed to the river's border with Kroog. After the Argivian counterattack in the Tomakul Campaign of 955 PF, his unit retreated to within ten miles of Tomakul in the winter of 44 AR. In his year of service to that point, he never saw combat.

While holding a trench outside Tomakul, he and his fellow soldier Karrak conducted trade with the Argivians under the guise of night patrols in no-man's-land.

When a new regiment of soldiers arrived at the front along with a large shipment of goods for the officers, Farid knew this meant a push and took the opportunity at his nightly meeting to warn the Argivians of the offensive. In return, the Argivian officer informed Farid that a shipment of Tawnos' Clay Soldiers had arrived at their front and that if everyone stayed back, machines would be the only casualties. The Fallaji force seized the Argivian trench without issue, and Farid found a thank-you note in their empty bunker.
