Fall of Rómendacil I

The Fall of Rómendacil I was the battle in which Gondor fought the Easterlings, and King Rómendacil I was slain.

History

Forty-one years after their defeat by Rómendacil (when he was known as Tarostar, and renamed because of his prolific victory), the Easterlings once again attacked Gondor, this time with more success. Hordes of Easterlings fell upon Gondor with great strength. King Rómendacil moved to stop them, but was slain in the battle.

Aftermath

The immediate consequences of this for Gondor are untold. However, the realm of Gondor survived as Rómendacil's son, the new king Turambar quickly moved to avenge his father's death.
