The composition of the city guard as of 1367 DR was 3,000 guardsmen, 500 palace guards, and 1,000 mercenary cavalry. Zarad also had a personal guard of 200 men and could call upon another 200 jann if needed.
Activities
The mercenaries for the cavalry were hired from the surrounding desert tribes on five year contracts.
