R.A. Salvatore's DemonWars: Trial by Fire #2

We pick up on the story with two barbarians being pursued by a demon fiend in the service of Managarm. Managarm, or the demon lord of war, is worshipped by the frost giants and use dark earth elemental magic. Moira and Andacanavar encounter one another after hearing the screams of the doomed barbarians and rushing to the area. After defeating the demon, Moira heals Andacanavar without resistance from him using a soul stone. She knows at once that this is not your typical barbarian, and he tells her of his Ranger origins.

Not very far away one of the trio of giants that kidnapped Elene is left sleeping against a tree by his comrades. He is caught unawares by a vengeful powrie named Grave Mungo who is going to keep a promise. Promising life in exchange for information on Elene, the trapped frost giant tells Grave of the giants plan for revenge. Not intent on keeping that promise Grave dips his cap in the blood of his enemy and heads on his way.

Upon returning to the missionary, Andacanavar and Moira find the Abellicans and barbarians in full fledged battle. The barbarians had found survivors from the carriage carrying Elene who claimed that magic was used to defeat the warriors and kidnap Byggvir's daughter. This led to the accusation of the Abellican missionaries and the attack upon the order.
