CHAPTER 4

As Grave makes his way guided by the spirit of Elene he finally reaches the frost giant fortress, and truly realizes the strength of the forces arrayed against them. The giant tribes, once scattered across Alpinador, were now united under the giant king Thael who held a strong grudge against Byggvir and his people. In one of the fortress towers Elene is being prepared by the giant women for the ceremony to reincarnate the giants god, Managarm, the demon lord of war. To meet the requirements of the sacrifice, the giants need the blood of someone that has wronged them. The skull of a frost giant hanging on Byggvir's wall satisfied this rule since Elene was of the same blood as Byggvir.

Andacanavar awakens chained to a wall in the dungeons of the fortress along with his other companions. Using a magical amethyst that Andacanavar received as a gift from the elves, Moira is able to break the shackles binding them to the wall and escape the dungeon. They do not get far before they are spotted and attacked by several monsters. Amazingly, Abbot Greene and Byggvir work together to battle the giants while Andacanavar and Moira rush to save Elene. Meanwhile, Grave Mungo is raising a false alarm for wolves, and using the confusion to sneak inside the fortress.

Lord Thael, enveloped in hatred and revenge for the death of his wife and child, commences the ceremony to sacrifice the blood of Byggvir, and ressurect the demon lord Managarm. With a slash of his sword to Elene's arm, Lord Thael draws the blood to feed the fire for Managarms summoning. Using Elenes body, Managarm is unleashed upon the world to rain destruction upon their foes.
