Ghost in the Shell

Ghost in the Shell is set in the mid-21st century (around 2029-2030) in the fictional, technologically advanced Japanese metropolis of New Port City (Niihama City), a sprawling, layered city visually inspired heavily by Hong Kong's dense, chaotic urban landscape, blending high-tech skyscrapers with older, grimy districts where cybernetic augmentation and brain-hacking are commonplace. This Cyberpunk world focuses on themes of identity, consciousness, and the blurring lines between humans and machines, with Section 9 operating within this near-future Japan.
