Akkutho I was a king of Koth before the time of Conan. Akkutho revived the lost glories of Khorshemish after the city was abandoned by its founder, King Khossus V.

At some point during or after Akkutho's reign, the evil wizard Tsotha-lanti built the Scarlet Citadel on the great hill that dominates Khorshemish.
