Kheshatta, the city of magicians, was first mentioned in Robert E. Howard's tale The Vale of Lost Women.
The city lies in southern Stygia on a caravan route to Kush. It is nominally ruled by a governor sent from Luxur, but in practice the sorcerer Thoth-amon and the Black Ring hold the true power. Mongoose Publishing's Stygia - Serpent of the South gives the city a population of some 12,563 across 68 acres, and names Lake Nafrini and a Temple of Set among its landmarks.
