The River Stagus is a great river which formed the eastern border of Grondar and the boundary of the known world (at least to those on the Thurian Continent). Beyond the river lies the mysterious realm of no return known as World's End. Karon, boatman of the Stagus, ferried anyone who was brave enough to cross the river into World's End. Neither man nor beast chose to swim the Stagus, for its waters are infested with serpents and freshwater sharks.
