Abigale is a owlin mage-student at the Silverquill College of Strixhaven University on Arcavios.

Description

A deaf student, Abigale has always had a way with words, able to conjure vivid images and powerful emotions in the minds of others. She prefers to carefully observe the people around her and take time to compose her ideas thoughtfully and intentionally. Passionate and caring, Abigale is a strong advocate for others and excels at working behind the scenes, though she also has a judgmental streak, looking down on those who do not live up to her high standards for justice and fairness.

She relies on sign language supplemented by telepathic magic, allowing her to both convey and interpret information with precision. She is attentive to clarity in communication, at times correcting her peers’ signing, and frequently interjects to ensure mutual understanding. This communicative role extends into mediation, as she redirects group focus and tempers disagreements or rash decisions.

History

First-Year

As a first-year student of Strixhaven, Abigale, along with her classmates Sanar, Kirol and Tam, while on a field trip to the Harrier's Wood under the supervision of their TA Dina chased a faerie to Lorwyn–Shadowmoor through an uncharted Omenpath. Upon arrival, the group finds Lorwyn deceptively peaceful but strange, populated by unfamiliar creatures and governed by rules they do not understand. As they travel in search of safety or a way home, tensions emerge within the group due to differing personalities and approaches to danger—ranging from caution to recklessness.

As the story progresses, the students begin to witness signs that Lorwyn is changing. The plane’s natural harmony starts to deteriorate, giving way to darker forces. They gradually learn that Lorwyn exists in a cyclical state, periodically transforming into its shadowed counterpart, Shadowmoor. This transition—known as the Great Aurora—reshapes not only the environment but also the nature and behavior of its inhabitants. Throughout their journey, they confront manifestations of Lorwyn’s changing magic and struggle to understand the forces behind the Aurora. Their primary goal remains survival and escape, but the experience reshapes their understanding of planar magic and their own abilities. Sanar's impulsivity triggered an escalation as he woke the elemental God of Twilight Isilu, which started transforming areas of Lorwyn into their Shadowmoor counterpart.
