The Malpiri Plains were located northeast of the Monastery of Gix. They would later become the Balduvian Steppe during the Ice Age. A clan of barbarians lived there before the Ice Age, which may have been the early Balduvian culture. Within the plains lay the Flarg, a mountainous region infested by goblins.
