During the Phyrexian Invasion
The Dragon Nations consisted of dragons of all colors that united to fight Phyrexians during the Phyrexian Invasion. The five flights of dragons were ruled by the dragon lords of each color. Darigaaz was the leader of the red flight, while the identity of the leaders of the other four flights is unknown.
To wake the Primeval Dragons, the leaders of the Dragon Nations sacrificed themselves, and thereafter the Dragon Nations were put under the control of the reborn Primevals, who turned on the defenders of Dominaria. After the reborn Darigaaz again sacrificed himself and the rest of the Primevals were defeated, the Dragon Nations were freed, effectively dissolving into disparate groups of dragons once more.
