Spider Swamp

The river flowed through the Spider Swamp . It originated on the northern end of the swamp near the edge of the Forest of Mir and flowed south and southwest for approximately 75 miles (120 kilometers) until it reached the coast and the Shining Sea .

Lost Ajhuutal was a partially submerged and ruined city within the northern reaches of the Spider Swamp of Calimshan that for millennia served as home to a community of aranea . The city's name stemmed from a very common misconception that it was the lost capital of the ancient Maridlands . Despite many attempts to clear up this conflation it persisted, as many held on to hopes of recovering Ajhuutal 's famed lost treasures.
