Jander Sunstar appeared as a middle-aged elf, with one of his hands terribly burned after he came into contact with the Holy Symbol of Ravenkind in a battle between Strahd von Zarovich and himself in Castle Ravenloft.
History
Before entering the mists, Jander Sunstar lived on the world of Toril and became a vampire. Some time later, he met Anna, whom he fell in love with. Once he tried showing Anna whom he truly was, she fled from him and Jander killed a lot of people in his subsequent rage. The Mists captured Jander and he came to Barovia, were he found out that Anna was linked with Strahd von Zarovich.
Jander Sunstar traveled the Mists for a long time, finding many different adventure parties to join and explore with. During his travels, in one of his encounters with these adventuring parties, Jander and another adventurer had a child, Savra Sunstar was born. On a later adventure, Jander was placed in the demonic machine called the Apparatus, and had numerous copies of himself spread throughout the Domains of Dread.
