Description
"Ginsel marble" is a form of hard, metamorphic rock similar to marble that is native to the crescent-shaped world Ginsel in Greyspace. These types of rocks are breathtakingly beautiful when quarried correctly and polished to a sheen. The rock itself has a pink, magenta or even a purple sheen and is shot through with veins and inclusions of "fools-gold" (iron pyrite) and other crystalline metals.
Trade
The small nation of Costepen on Ginsel has the largest quarries on the planet, and based its economy largely on supplying vast quantities of the ornamental stone to spacefaring merchants, who would then transport it to distant worlds where they could sell it for a king's ransom.
Rumor
According to rumor an entire wall in the palace of the city of Rauthaven on Toril in Realmspace was constructed of Ginsel marble: if true, the cost would have been truly astronomical.
