Overview
Captain Krissos was an Imperial Fleet officer in command of the elven ship Luminary of Ehlonna which served as the flagship for the Greyspace Fleet. Krissos and his command were based on Oerth, and focussed their patrols almost exclusively in the region encompassed by the Grinder, though they preferred to keep as wide a berth between themselves and the asteroid shell as possible. In the last twelve months, Captain Krissos had lost at least seven ships which had pursued various neogi raiders deep into the asteroid field. Krissos and his advisors had come to believe the neogi were purposely luring the ships into the maze of asteroids where they could be ambushed and destroyed.
Command
Captain Krissos was the commander of the Luminary of Ehlonna and served as the overall commander of the Greyspace Fleet, which he believed to be the largest such naval force within the sphere. The Fleet consisted of ten elven armada, one man-o-war, four shrikeships, one radiant ship, five eel supply ships and three captured mantis ships, with a total complement of 967 elven personnel and 60 scro prisoners.
History
At one time the Greyspace Fleet had been almost twice its current size, but had suffered significant attrition during the Second Unhuman War. The most grievous losses were incurred during what became known as the Borka Maneuver, when a large scro fleet of 75 mantis ships attacked the elven fleet above the orcish homeworld of Borka. All but 15 of the scro vessels had been defeated before the survivors fled into the depths of the Grinder, but before their defeat they had managed to destroy over half the elven fleet, reducing it to its current numbers.
