A rudder of maneuverability resembles any normal rudder that would be found on a conventional watercraft.
History
Rudders of maneuverability are created by elven mages working in the Cenbreȃ shipyards on Cenalterien. Cenalterien is an asteroid close to the centre of the Greela cluster in the crystal sphere known as Greyspace.
The first rudders of maneuverability were developed exclusively for use by the Elven Imperial Navy. In more recent times, the shipyards at Cenbreȃ have been allowed to sell rudders to elven-crewed ships. However, non-elves are strictly forbidden from purchasing rudders of maneuverability, and those caught flouting this embargo face severe punishment, including the death penalty.
Powers
A rudder of maneuverability is designed to improve the maneuverability class (MC) of the vessel it is mounted on. A rudder has no effect on a ship that already has a MC of A, and must be mounted on a ship that has an active system of propulsion. A rudder of maneuverability is particularly vulnerable to electrical damage.
A rudder of maneuverability may be enchanted with an enhancement bonus ranging from MC E to MC B. There are also rare examples of cursed rudders of maneuverability which provide an MC of G.
