Forge Irongrip

"Let me tell you about Reorx. It'll only take a few days."
- Forge Irongrip

Overview

Forge Irongrip was the founder and current leader of the Hand of Reorx, a religious company of evangelical dwarves and gnomes who were determined to convert newcomers to Krynnspace to the worship of their god Reorx. After being raised from the dead, Forge had a religious epiphany and believed he was meant to spread the word of the glory of Reorx, the World Smith. He began preaching about the greatness of Reorx, and soon his passion and his charisma drew others to him, convincing him to abandon his mining career to pursue preaching full time.

Eventually, Forge decided to take his crusade to other worlds, and eventually he convinced his family to purchase a tradesman from a retired spelljamming captain who had decided to make Reorx his new home. Naming the vessel The Hand, Forge gathered some of his most devout followers and established the Hand of Reorx. Forge and his followers have sailed wildspace for the past three years without any sign they intended to end their crusade any time soon.

Possessions

Forge possessed an enchanted shield and was armed with an enchanted warhammer and an enchanted dagger. He also owned a tradesman named The Hand.

Relationships

Crew

Forge appointed himself captain of The Hand, despite there being more experienced warriors and leaders among his followers. He also selected a gnome wizard named Walfrid Hyghseeker to be the vessel's primary helmsman. The rest of the ship's complement was made up of twenty dwarves and gnomes, all originally from the planet Reorx, and all devout worshippers of Reorx.

History

A member of a wealthy mining family from the planet Reorx, Forge Irongrip died many years ago during a mining accident. Fortunately, his family managed to pay a visiting priest handsomely to "bring their son back". When Forge was successfully raised from the dead, he claimed that his spirit had travelled to a great feasting hall at the center of the world, where he met the god Reorx. Awed by what he saw (and a little upset with his family for bringing him back), Forge came to believe that the entire ordeal was a sign that he was meant to spread the word of the glory of the World Smith.

Deciding to keep his experiences in the feast hall to himself, Forge began preaching in ernest about the greatness of his god. Soon, his charisma and passion began drawing others to him, and he abandoned his mining career to pursue preaching full time. However, it didn’t take him long to realise that the inhabitants of his homeworld didn't need a lot of convincing, as many of them worshipped the World Smith already.

Driven by the need to spread the word, Forge convinced his family that he had to take his crusade to other worlds, and eventually they bought a tradesman from a spelljamming captain who decided to make Reorx his home. Forge gathered some of his most devout followers and took off for wildspace.
