Overview
The Star Knights were sworn to protect the inhabitants of Krynnspace, though they primarily patrolled wildspace between the planets Krynn and Reorx. Because the company was so small and only possessed a single ship, they were limited in that they could only tackle threats from spelljamming vessels their own size or perhaps slightly larger. If they encountered a significantly more powerful threat, however, they were forced to rely on aid from allied vessels based at the port of Palanthas on Krynn, or the various ports on Reorx.
Dante and his knights realized that to be more effective they needed to expand into a force capable of dealing with any size vessel. To finance their operations, the company provided a passenger service between Reorx and Krynn, though they also often received donations from grateful merchants and shipowners - the Star Knights had a well deserved reputation for coming to the aid of damaged ships and transporting wounded sailors to the port in Ansalon. Dante and his captain put aside a portion of their earnings with the goal of eventually purchasing a galleon and expanding the company.
Base of Operations
The Star Knights primarily patrolled wildspace between the planets Krynn and Reorx. On Krynn they were based out of the spelljammer port of Palanthas, which is located on the continent of Ansalon. They also frequented the various spelljammer ports on Reorx.
Ships
The Star Knights operated a single dragonfly, though they hoped to earn enough gold to purchase a galleon and expand the company.
History
The Star Knights were founded nearly a decade ago by a retired Knight of Solamnia named Dante Lionmane, who discovered the joys of spelljamming while visiting friends at Ansalon's only spelljammer port located near the city of Palanthas. Dante, who was 65 at the time, sold all of his possessions, except his armor and sword, and used the money to purchase a Dragonfly. Gathering a small group of warriors, the old knight formed the Star Knights and has been sailing wildspace ever since.
Members
At 75 years of age, Dante Lionmane remained the nominal commander of the company, though he had appointed Amaan, a Wizard of the White Robes, as the ship's captain. The rest of the company consisted of six additional knights.
