In this issue the crew mends the ship after the attack by the Chakuum. Do to the Battles the Federation is short good officers and Number One is offered the command of the U.S.S. Nelson. Meanwhile Captain Pike is sent on a secret mission and none other than Admiral Robert Aprilarrives on the ship as an adviser to Number One.

Mia Coltand Jose Tyler find an object known as a Keepsake on the planet Algol. Defying Federation protocol she takes in to the ship to investigate it's structure. This ends with the object zapping her and having her wake up in a future time.
