Description

Through the final days of the Calamity, the Narrows were navigable by large ships even at night and had a serviceable harbor with a dock. The ash-choked land to the south of the Narrows began to see shoots of greenery at that time, after the forces of the Prime Deities moved through. There were woods surrounding the narrows even then, and gulls inhabited the area.

History

In the final days of the Calamity, a group of survivors venturing from Torm's Hill sought to travel to Vasselheim. After traveling hundreds of miles to a place that would come to be known as Byroden, they met a man named Tristan who offered to take them to the narrows to see if a ship could be found to take them across the Ozmit Sea. When they arrived, they found evidence of a long-ago battle: scattered weapons and armor with bones peeking out. Fiedra Marrow, holding a profoundly magical sentient key, learned from the key that a ship was not far away, and the key emitted a beam of red light to the west to signal to the ship to come to the harbor. A tall ship did arrive through the fog early the next morning, and it was announced by a human warrior of Vasselheim named Grenalin, who turned out to be a long-ago acquaintance of one of the survivors, Erro Mordaurum. Grenalin explained that the seas were calm for the first time in a long time, and that a fleet had been sent from Vasselheim to the coast of Gwessar to search for survivors. The Torm's Hill party boarded the ship and set sail back to the Dawn City.
