Description
The villages are built around the Vues'dal Waters because of the fertile volcanic soil that surrounds it, making excellent conditions for farming, as well as fishing in the lake. The villages are under the protection of Syngorn.
Demographics
In 812 PD, an elven farming town there had a population of around one thousand. By 836 PD, more than 2400 people lived in the villages around the lake; about half were elves, another quarter goblinkin refugees fleeing the Iron Authority, and 12% lizardfolk.
Produce
The Vues'dal villages are renowned for their produce, growing things such as tomatoes, cherries, pumpkins, lentils, and sweet potatoes. This produce is exported to Syngorn, and from there to the rest of Tal'Dorei.
History
For several decades before 812 PD, the people living around Vues'dal clashed with the lizardfolk in the surrounding marshes. By 836 PD, however, some of the lizardfolk began to join the small settlements. Additionally, many goblinkin fleeing the Iron Authority settled here as well. The villagers banded together to protect against local lizardfolk and human bandits.
In the adventure hook Legions of the Reptile God, these lizardfolk bandits become more aggressive and organized under the leadership of the spirit naga Maledicta Hexos, who has united the lizardfolk tribes in the name of Zehir, the Cloaked Serpent.
