Description

Ironseat Ridge is a crooked, angular mountain that juts out of the surrounding plains. From a distance, the mountain resembles a crooked chair. In the southwestern foothills is a small rise known as the Throne of the Arch Heart, which is used as a gathering place for the nomadic centaurs that live across the Dividing Plains.

According to legends, in the mountains there are the ruins of an abandoned dwarven redoubt called Inverspire, filled with monsters and vast riches, including the legendary creation of the All-Hammer — a forge guardian.

History

According to local gnoll tribes and villagers living in the hills, Ironseat Ridge was once the throne of a titan. The veracity of this is unknown, but the legend still permeates the region.

During the Calamity, the forge guardian was placed here by the All-Hammer to watch over a forge able to make works of godlike power. In 810 PD, the elemental power of the Thordak ignited this divine creation, turning it to the forge it was made to guard. The forge guardian has begun creating beings of steel and flame with the goal to tear Tal’Dorei apart in order to find its missing father, the All-Hammer.

Some time not long before 611 PD, rich gold veins were discovered within Ironseat Ridge. This gold rush lead to the construction and rapid boom of the city of Kymal, built at the mountain's rocky foothills. However, within a century the gold began to dry up, and a decade after that the extensive mines tunneled into the mountain were sealed up and abandoned.
