Rootgarden Marsh is a swamp to the east of Mooren Lake, on the Lucidian Coast of Tal'Dorei.
Description
The Rootgarden Marsh forms where Mooren Lake's freshwater mixes with the Lucidian Ocean's salt water, making a relatively cold swamp. Tall, thin trees with long stilt-like roots rise from the marsh's floor. The mix of fresh and salt water makes for limited flora other than those trees and some moss, as any plants must be capable of surviving in either environment.
The swamp is populated by gnoll marauders called the Moonsteeth, various monsters, and the rare manawort, sentient mushrooms who have allied with a local black dragon named Thardraxxus. Many of the smaller creatures take advantage of the hut-like root structures, using them to ambush the travelers who infrequently cross this dangerous terrain.
