Description
Felderwin is a small agricultural town southeast of the city of Zadash. It is situated close to the Ashkeeper Peaks separating the Dwendalian Empire from Xhorhas. The Scymir River flows nearby to the east, and the Eisfus River to the west.
Points of interest
- Brenatto Apothecary: Apothecary and alchemy shop (burned in the Kryn attack on Felderwin).
- Felderwin General: A general store.
- Goldfield Tavern and Lodge: Inn and stables owned by Simone Deepwell
- Glassy Grass Inn: Next door to the Brenatto Apothecary (burned in the Kryn attack on Felderwin).
- A seedy bar: A popular place for older farmers.
Demographics
The town has a mostly halfling population, though other races have been shown to coexist peacefully. In 835 PD, the population is 8,180, with over half (58%) being halfling. Humans make up 21% and, interestingly, dragonborn make up 6%, likely due to its proximity to Talonstadt.
History
Felderwin was settled by the halfling Felder clan around a century after the Divergence.
During the War of Ash and Light, the Felderwin Tillage's strategic importance as the breadbasket of the Dwendalian Empire made the town and Tillage targets for the Kryn Dynasty. The Kryn used purple worms to burrow all the way from Xhorhas to attack the town and burn some of the larger fields of the Tillage. This led to the Empire dramatically increasing its Crownsguard presence and demanding a punishing level of additional work from the people of the area to avoid shortfalls, and fed paranoia and discontent in Felderwin.
