Description

The Vermaloc Wildwood is "a forest of perpetual fall" comprised of the eponymous vermaloc trees with smooth purple bark and vibrantly colored leaves hued in deep red, orange, and maroon. It is described to be "in stark contrast to the often dreary landscape of Xhorhas ". The forest is expansive, stretching about 200 miles from northern edge to southern edge.

The trees have heavy roots that swell from the trunks about 4 feet from the ground and "spring outward"; this sometimes creates small entrances to shaded tree hollows. The dense canopy is about 10 to 12 feet from the ground. The forest floor is heavily composted and populated with tall, brown-red ferns and occasional large clusters of bright yellow flowers. Rock formations intermittently protrude through the forest "like large, heavy, naturally formed monoliths."

Many logging camps are set up along the edge of the timberland; however, the Vermaloc Wildwood also carries dangers. Giant spiders, along with creatures deformed and mutated by the Betrayer Gods, can be found deeper in the woods and among the brush.
