Exterior

The Dreamscape Theater is in the Core Spire, on a small thoroughfare. Compared to the surrounding neighborhood of simple residential buildings and small shops, it is immensely gaudy: it is three stories high, with a multi-level red pagoda-like roof with purple trim, covered in small magical lights that are lit even during the day. The door to the theater is huge and gilded, and the outer walls are plastered with posters which display magically animated images. When the party first visited it, prior to a matinee showing, they could hear music from within. There is an alleyway which runs around the theater and which can be accessed via a side door.

Interior

The interior lobby and main performance stage have a color scheme of black trimmed with gold. The stage has an orchestra pit. There is also a green room as part of the backstage area. The box seats and balcony are accessed via a spiral staircase.

Above the stage are two catwalks, as well as rafters with many ropes and sandbags. The roof can be accessed via a ladder and hatch at the end of one of the catwalks.

Stuvan's office is accessed via a switchback staircase in a hallway off the wings of the stage. It is on the second floor, and the mahogany door to the office includes carvings of the city spires and the comedy and drama masks. The interior of his office is cluttered with antique furniture and knick-knacks, and includes a number of posters from previous shows. There is a device in his office that allows Stuvan to contact his employees via a series of speaking tubes.

Tefta's office is on the same floor as Stuvan's but accessed from the opposite wing. The decor is loud pinks and yellows, and there is a curved table rather than a desk.

There is a storage area in the basement, full of old costumes, scenery, and chests of props. It is somewhat disorganized and unkempt and there are visible cobwebs and dust on some of the more infrequently-used items.

The theater has two unisex bathrooms. The one on the top floor by the box seating is fairly clean and well-kept.

History

Anni Aughta had been practicing for some time for an audition for the theater, and frequently mentioned it to Ashton and Fresh Cut Grass in conversation. After Lord Eshteross mentioned that the theater had also recently been the site of several unexplained disappearances, the party went to investigate.

Upon arriving to the theater, Dorian bribed the ticket seller to give the party an empty box seat for the matinee performance of Kendra's Flying Lauders. Dorian was also recognized by his brother, Cyrus Wyvernwind, at the theater, and the two had a brief conversation prior to the show.

During the show, one of the performers fell and was injured, cutting the acrobatics demonstration short. The party took the opportunity to send Fresh Cut Grass backstage to provide his services as a healer, and in doing so the group was able to ask Stuvan about the disappearances.

After a lengthy discussion with Stuvan, a thorough investigation of the interior of the theater under the watch of Ocampo, and a conversation with Tefta about several of the patrons who had gone missing, the party realized the people were going missing just outside the theater. Imogen sensed a strange presence at the end of an adjacent alley, and when the party went to investigate, they found a spitting mimic. They were able to defeat the mimic, which had been responsible for the disappearances.
