A Taste of Tal'Dorei (T.O.T.) is a theme restaurant and dinner theater in Bassuras in the South Dregs. Servers dress as and impersonate famous figures from Tal'Dorei's history. It never closes.

There was also a buffet in the Maiden's Wish Casino in Kymal with the same name. A similar establishment was opened in Vasselheim in or before 839 PD.

Exterior

The building housing the restaurant is massive and out-of-place on the streets of Bassuras, built in classic Tal'Dorei style (which resembles Tudor style). Its roof is a more-vibrant-than-natural brown and the walls have been frequently patched and repaired.

Interior

The interior is filled with an almost overwhelming number of smells and mismatched tables, banners and tapestries hanging from the high central walls. One tapestry depicts a triangular mountain with two hammers crossed in front (probably the crest of Kraghammer, another the crest of Emon, and one shows a tree with the sun above it, the symbol of Whitestone.

A music box dangling from a rope provides the background music. There is a large mirror framed in wood carved to resembled twining ivy on one wall.

Fare

Service and entertainment

When Bells Hells visited, there was a badly staged re-enactment of a battle between King Drassig and Zan Tal'Dorei. The wait staff remained in-character at virtually all times, and the party made reference to them probably being theater majors in college.

Quotations

  • Orym: Do they have a dress code? Are we underdressed or overdressed? Do you need a jacket?
Ashton: You definitely don't need a jacket. I'm not even sure you need shoes.
  • FCG: (about the servers) Orym, are these historical figures?
    Orym: Uh... to a point.
    FCG: Are they accurate?
    Orym: No.
