Description
There are 150 to 200 small buildings made of fine wood but not too extravagant. They are surrounded by tall, thin, palm-like trees that protrude from the sand, bearing large nut-like fruit. There are also small troughs (at least 10 feet deep) of gathered water rain water, usually locked with a semi-translucent top or a wooden lid and chained shut.
General civilians have darker skin dressed in longer, full-body robes, some of them wrapped in scarves. In conversation with Scanlan, Soren said that he hasn't been in Ank'Harel in many years, indicating that Shandal is self-sustaining in the sense city with enough essential products to survive.

Shandal is a one-day journey south-southwest of Ank'Harel. However, there are no roads, but only signs which can be read by experienced guides from Shandal.
