History
Due to the swamp's wild nature, a circle of druids settled in a grove deep within the swamp, with the Tree of Life at its centre. Like other druidic circles, they welcome all into their grove, so long as they observe its peaceful nature. The druids of this circle managed to tame a number of Wyverns and wolves. They also possessed enough magical ability to summon storms.
At some point in 1270, the circle's Hierophant left to look for more recruits, leaving an Elder druid in charge. During this time, the Scoia'tael leader Yaevinn frequented the grove to think. Besides him, there was also the Dryad Morenn, who stayed there for a while. Relations between the circle and the other inhabitants of the swamp, the brickmakers and the loggers, were strained. The loggers refused to stop cutting trees, and at one point the brickmakers falsely accused the druids of kidnapping a boy to turn him into a dryad. After the battle in the swamp between Yaevinn's Scoia'tael and the Order of the Flaming Rose, the criminal organisation Salamandra moved into the former Scoia'tael camp and started pressuring the druids to use their magic for its purposes.
By this point, the Hierophant had returned and worked together with the Witcher Geralt of Rivia to kill the Salamandra leader in the swamp. When the Vizima Rebellion broke out, several of the circle's elder druids took shelter in a cave in the Swamp cemetery. There, they also prepared for the Green March, a protest march against logging and the killing of endangered species, which the druids intended to present to King Foltest.
