History
Settlement
Caingorn was first settled by the Dauk and Wozgor people before the First Landing in the 760s, according to a classification by the historian Arnelius Grock.
Formation of the League
The kingdom was part of the East March in Kovir, but later became allied with Creyden and Malleore, forming the League. After the First Treaty of Lan Exeter, Benda of Kaedwen was allowed to use, in official documents, the title of sovereign of Caingorn and Malleore.
Niedamir's reign
Caingorn was ruled by King Niedamir during the Northern Wars.
Some time before 1271, King Henselt of Kaedwen reportedly looted the country, killing around ten thousand soldiers and civilians, but Niedamir and the League apparently survived and remained important players in the region.
Distant future
In the far future, the weather changed enough that northern regions, like Talgar, Caingorn, and Kaedwen, were no longer able to grow certain types of produce due to the colder climate.
National emblems
The coat of arms of Caingorn originally depicted a silver griffin on red. During Niedamir's rule, the color used was purpure. His archers wore purpure and gold.

Trivia
- The Cairngorms are a mountain range in the eastern Highlands of Scotland.
Notes
- Caingorn is portrayed inaccurately on the world map in The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings as a protectorate of Kaedwen and a separate kingdom from Malleore. Given Henselt's attack however, it can be speculated that Caingorn and Malleore were forced to pay tribute.
