Codex of Erde - a Gazetteer

Those seven realms situated in the far east and south are generally known as “Outremere,” more specifically they constitute the region the old Empire referred to as Ruidana. They constitute the only wholesome lands in the whole region. They are referred to, by most who do not live there, as the “New Empire” and the “Far Kingdoms.” Many of the immigrants, the Crusaders and others, have brought with them the name “Outremere” and so it has stuck in common usage.
