"Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay (WFRP) was first published in 1986 by Games Workshop Ltd. as a spin-off to their successful Warhammer: The Mass Combat Fantasy Roleplaying Game (1st Edition) miniatures game and shares the same setting, The Old World.
A second edition, Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay (2nd Edition) was published in 2005 by Black Industries and later transfered to Fantasy Flight Games.
Over the years, books for WFRP were printed by multiple publishers and books were re-issued with slight changes or combined with other books. A concise chronological overview of publications can be found .
There are two notable campaigns for WFRP: The highly praised The Enemy Within Campaign that has a lot of investigation and behind-the-scenes-scheming, and the Doomstones Campaign, which is much more combat-oriented.
The game is supported by the long-running, semi-professional magazine Warpstone."
