History
Jareth is a megalith, or giant lion-like living sandstone statue at least 10 — and likely over 20 feet tall. His only weapon is a shield, as he is a defense-oriented fighter. At some point, he became a fighter in the Great Coliseum of Otaria.
Trivia
- "Jareth" was chosen as his name as it sounded “white, soldierly, and cool”. The use of 'leonine' in his title is used as it’s found in the dictionary: "of, relating to, or characteristic of a lion" and not related to the Leonin of Mirrodin.
- His original concept was a powerful, heavily armored human soldier, but that seemed too mundane for such a powerful creature, so it was altered into a lion-like living stone statue.
- In his art, he's carrying the head of a lizard-like creature (maybe Viashino). Its headless, twitching corpse is cropped from the card image and lies at Jareth's feet.
