Gadren was held by his mother when Rand al'Thor visits the Black Tower.
Just prior to the Last Battle, his father kept trying to Travel back to the Black Tower to see him, but was unable to do so due to Graendal's dreamspike.
Gaidal Cain Speculation
It has been speculated, due to his ugliness, that he is Gaidal Cain reborn. Given that he was already four in Lord of Chaos and that Gaidal Cain had disappeared before that, it seems unlikely that this is the case. Jordan has also commented in an interview on this impossibility.
Brandon Sanderson, however, indicated that he both knows who Gaidal is and left a clue in Towers of Midnight about his identity. In a later interview he hinted that Gadren would be too old.
He later admitted that Grady has multiple children. The new theory, practically confirmed by Sanderson, is that Gaidal is another son of Grady that is either just born or recently conceived.
