Maynard and Megda went to the Toman Head region shortly after the Seanchan landed at Falme, after hearing the rumors of strange women who were using the One Power to harm others.
He is taken prisoner in Tobin's Hollow when the Seanchan occupy the village, and is separated from Megda when she is taken damane. He manages to escape, and is reunited with Megda when she also escapes during the chaos in Falme when the Seanchan are attacked by the Heroes of the Horn.
