Parallels
Mikel, or Michael, is a reference to the Archangel Michael↗, also known as St. Michael. According to Revelation 12, the Archangel Michael (“He who is like God”) leads God’s angels in battle against the “old serpent” Satan during the apocalyptic war in heaven. The patron saint of many warriors in arms, in Christian iconography he is often depicted carrying a sword and trampling on the Devil. As for Michael's sobriquet, it is a reference to Jesus' sermon on the mount where he says "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God”.
