After King Alsalam Saeed Almadar goes missing, the King's Guard is disbanded by Milisair Chadmar. Votebek becomes a street tough guarding rich merchants. When Rand al'Thor returned to Bandar Eban, he promoted Votabek to lieutenant and charged him with the duty of restoring order to the city.
