Mat and some of the lords and officers of the Band of the Red Hand stay at her inn. When Mat begins flirting with Betse, the serving maid is afraid that Mistress Daelvin might disapprove if she sat there drinking wine with Mat. But when Mistress Daelvin sees Betse, she waves them on.
Most of her profit comes from the wine and that she can usually only sell in the evening.
