Maddy's channeling abilities start to manifest when Whitecloaks and Trollocs attack the Two Rivers in 999 NE.

She lived in her family's farm, but the Whitecloaks arrived and called all of them Darkfriends due to her unusual powers. She buried her parents in the orchard, and then started hiding in the tabac shed.

Alanna Mosvani later has her enroll as a novice so that she can control her abilities. She has a block that she must be afraid to channel.
