Red (horse)

Red is the name of a horse given to Rand al'Thor by Basel Gill.

Appearance

Red is a tall bay stallion with a deep chest. His hair is almost the color of Rand's hair.

Activities

Basel Gill gives Rand Red to make the journey from Caemlyn to Fal Dara. Red carries Rand from Fal Dara on his hunt for the Horn of Valere and the ruby-hilted dagger. Rand uses Red when he travels from Tremonsien to Cairhien and later across Toman Head and into Falme. When Matrim Cauthon blows the Horn of Valere, Rand is confronted by Ba'alzamon and is thrown from Red's saddle. After this, Red disappears.
