History and activities
Babazar was once among the wealthiest persons in Zaratan. By 1367 DR, however, his daughter had fallen very ill and, while trying to obtain a cure for her, Babazar had lost much of his fortune. He could not reach certain berries necessary to help his daughter, as townsfolk were stopped from visiting the oasis near Zaratan by monsters roaming at that time. When visited by the recently returned son of Al-Hazred, the merchant asked him for help and the young corsair may have obtained the berries and cured Babazar's daughter.
When relieved of the anxiety for his daughter's health, Babazar was interested in finding information on a magical woman rumored to live in the oasis, planning to somehow make money off her.
