Despite his bloodline and having been groomed to become a great general, Zuun'dak grew up agitated about the brutality of the Iron Authority. In an adventure hook set sometime in the 800s PD (perhaps around 812 or 836 PD), Zuun'dak has recently been briefly captured by the Orroyen tribes of the Rifenmist Jungle, an experience through which the heir learned of the gentler world beyond the empire, sparking a desire to leave the Iron Authority and change. While fleeing in disguise, the adventurers' party encounters him and is faced with the choice of turning him over to the Orroyen to be used as leverage or helping him defect and preparing him to rebel.
