Zhafe Uludan is a stout but strong-looking man in his mid-fifties with dark hair that is greased back on top and then falls down to almost his mid-back below. He wears a soft white cloth hat that raises up to a point with a beautiful gem emblazoned on the front of it.

He has a very large mustache that almost becomes a "full Stonewall-type", but is carved in the center so that it's just floppy.

Personality

The Marquis is a suave politician, greeting warmly those he considers of importance but losing interest quickly in those deemed not worth his time.

Background

Zhafe became the Marquis of Nicodranas thanks to his family connections with the Dwendalian Empire, presumably at some point before 790 PD. During his time as marquis, a close relative of him killed a merchant, and in order to avoid controversy, the family used their jester, Sarge, as a scapegoat, forcing him to flee (and involuntarily causing the vengeful soul of the murdered to end up bound to the halfling).

The Marquis Zhafe’s Desmesne is a small but very fancy palace in the Opal Archways district of Nicodranas, not far from the Lavish Chateau, and is where most of major diplomatic events and parties happen within Nicodranas, and where much of the political business between the Dwendalian Empire and the Clovis Concord takes place. Jester believed that her mother had previously been invited to perform at the Marquis Demesne, but had not done so. As Marquis, Zhafe is the ruler of the city-state of Nicodranas within the Concord, and runs the merchant guilds of the city.

The Mighty Nein was invited by Athesias Uludan to a party being held for the Dwendalian Empire's peace negotiation team at the Marquis Desmesne, the palace of Athesias's cousin Zhafe Uludan, the governing Marquis of Nicodranas.

At the meeting of the Exandrian Accord in Vasselheim following the invasion of the Tishtan excavation site by Ruidian forces, Marquis Uludan represented the Clovis Concord and committed its non-naval forces to helping to defeat the invaders. He expressed hostility towards the inhabitants of the red moon, calling them "moonborn heathens".

The following day, in another meeting, he tried to propose something, but was interrupted by Vex'ahlia and her team, who had brought plans for three potential missions to deal with the Ruby Vanguard and their allies.

Relationships

Zhafe Uludan is the cousin of Athesias Uludan, a member of the Cerberus Assembly. He was named marquis largely for diplomatic reasons, as this connection was beneficial to the Clovis Concord's relationship with the Empire.
