Biography
Eckhardt was a respected merchant who played a major role in the development of Rexxentrum. As the city developed to the point that the Zemnian people no longer struggled to survive, their leaders debated what kind of government to institute. Eckhardt wanted a monarchy, and wanted his son Manfried to occupy the throne. Over more than three years of wrangling and debate, Eckhardt quietly used blackmail and promises to make deals with the leaders of the newly flourishing guilds, and secured their resounding support in 539 PD to establish the monarchy. Manfried Dwendal became the first emperor of the Dwendalian Empire.
The Dwendal bloodline continued to hold the throne through at least 843 PD, when a declining Bertrand Dwendal was still king.
