Appearance
Farah is a mature and tall half-elven woman, with silver hair, tanned skin, and a general look that identifies her as an old adventurer. She wears leather armor and glasses.
Personality
She is tough and grouchy, somewhat sullen and grumpy, and presents a confident and tough attitude towards strangers, although she is willing to share advice with a person she trusts. However, deep down she has some insecurity about her own abilities, as well as her age.
She is private and doesn't share personal information voluntarily; however, she is not secretive, and if someone asks about something, she is willing to talk.
Background
Farah was born in the Menagerie Coast around 699 PD. She used to be a monster hunter, and during her time she fought fiends such as a glabrezu, aberrations such as gibbering mouthers, and several undead threats, including a type of ghost-like vine she liked to call " marionettes ". Around 759 PD she blew up a pirate ship in the Menagerie Coast. However, she left that life behind for a while.
" The Carnivorous Cube " (RTx01)
Around 839 PD Farah received an invitation to try to join the Slayer's Take, and she went to the monthly Himblewood market, where other candidates gathered. She initially was alone, until she was noticed by Frog, who started making questions and staying close to her. The half-elf was initially annoyed, but when she noticed the strage armored figure also intended to join the Slayer's Take, she softened a bit, and started sharing advice, telling Frog to be ruthless and confident, and using Heera Agneheart's cunning removing competition as an example. When Poogs asked her why she was there, she merely stated she was a monster hunter (like the members of the guild she wanted to join).
During his presentation, Timpani Guff noticed several candidates that he called to the stage. Frog was the first, and when she was talking Farah whispered her to act more confident; when the half-elf herself was called, she had a brief moment of insecurity before following her new friend, and they were joined shortly after by Idrin Shadowstep and Heera. When Timpani accidentally released a gelatinous cube, the four candidates took care of it, with Farah igniting her two shortswords and hitting it several times before Heera finished it. Timpani, who had been hiding until then, told them they had been accepted as members of the Slayer's Take, and asked them to meet him at dusk for their first job. At the end of the day, the group met the firbolg and Poogs in the forest, and Timpani decided to share with them a ghost story that was popular in the guild. This ended when strange sounds were heard in the forest, followed by a violet light and an avalanche, that caused Farah and the rest to start running.
" The Bog House " (RTx02)
Farah ran as fast as she could, and managed to get out of the way before the snow reached her. Eventually they all got to safety, and when four snowmen controlled by undead vines approached, they hid; however, when Timpani mentioned they could attack the monsters' shiny backs, Idrin, encouraged, cast Fire Bolt against one of them. A battle ensued, and Farah recognized the creatures as marionettes, and attacked the snow around one of them, to leave it without an actual physical body to access. The adventurers got hurt, and when the blood hunter mentioned they needed magic to actually hurt the snowmen Idrin helped her by casting Magic Weapon on her blade, which she empowered even more with her Rite of the Flame, making it easier to defeat them. After roots dragged Poogs away and the rest of them went to rescue him, eventually finding a shining dome of green energy. While they were there Timpani confessed to them that he wasn't an actual member of the Slayer's Take, but a failed recruit doing his own research and trying to prove to the guild that something strange with Putridius Festerkin and long defeated monsters was going on. Farah agreed to stay and help him, since he hadn't had any success so far; later, while they were theorizing if Poogs was beyond the green barrier, Farah suggested that if the thing that had taken the goblin was ghostly in nature, it was possible it made him pass through the green energy.
Shortly after Timpani, suddenly inspired, revealed a runic carving under the snow (that Farah recognized as a druidic symbol for a secret entrance), and then guided the four of them to a willow tree that transported them to a strange bog. They found a hut where they were greeted by Gurt Stumpstuck, a dwarf and friend of Timpani who identified the four younger adventurers as the "chosen" ones of a prophecy, and offered them some legendary weapons to face undead threats: Farah took a large crossbow which, according to Gurt, would help her find little critters whenever they started running. After all that the group returned to the green dome, and with their new gear, they were able to pass through; after Farah went in, the barrier closed again.
" The Frozen Puppet " (RTx03)
Farah and her friends appeared in the middle of a blizzard in a tundra, and they looked for Poogs; on their way there they noticed a vine trying to decide if attack them or not, and the blood hunter used her new crossbow, hitting the marionette and marking it with red smoke that helped them track the creature to a cavern that they recognized as the old lair of Rimefang, a dragon defeated by Vox Machina and the Slayer's Take. There they found Poogs and the skeleton of the dragon, that the marionettes started puppeteering to attack them.
Farah shot Rimefang, but she missed, and the puppet responded by throwing a chunk of ice at her, and Poogs and Timpani had to help her get out from under it; the druid used Healing Spirit, but shortly after the blood hunter was pulled and restrained by some vines, leaving her resigned and admitting she needed help (which Timpani and Poogs provided again). Farah got frightened by the dragon puppet, and she briefly considered running away, but ended up attacking it anyway; although she missed, she managed to get rid of the magical fear. Eventually they managed to defeat all the marionettes, as well as their source of power, and left the lair with some magical earrings Idrin found.
An hour later the group had a meeting with two members of the Slayer's Take, and Timpani, who had brought Rimefang's skull with them, tried to convince them of the strange phenomena in the area. Farah and the rest supported him, showing their injuries as proof of the battle they had won against the marionette ghosts, but the members of the guild didn't believe the story, and didn't got a good impression of the four new adventurers either; Farah in particular expressed her disappointment when the other monster hunters said they didn't know what a marionette was. Later, when Timpani stated his desire of unveiling the truth and helping people, Poogs immediately went with him, and although Farah briefly commented they wouldn't be paid with the druid, she and the other three adventurers followed shortly after. The following day they settled into an apartment on the outskirts of Vasselheim, and took "the Re-Slayer's Take" as their new group name.
" The Voiceless Village " (RTx04)
While the group was talking about their potential first mission, Farah took a tuna can and ate a little, having to contain a barf because it had expired. When they knew that the mission involved dealing with a strange fog that had kidnapped people, Heera was curious about the phenomenon, and the blood hunter explained to her those were probably amalgamations of ghosts known as whispers; Idrin was curious about whether those spirits were actually reborn, but she clarified there was no body involved at all. Timpani then declared that would be a rescue mission for the Re-Slayer's Take, and Farah asked him what would the Slayer's Take think of their knock-off name, but the firbolg assured her the guild was too busy to deal with something like that. They started preparing, and looking for something interesting in the apartment Farah located a bejeweled egg, but it broke as soon as she took it. When Poogs arrived shortly after with cupcakes, Idrin tried one and noticed they were too salty, learning that the goblin had baked them using his literal sweat; despite that, Farah ate one to get the taste of bad tuna out of her mouth. Before leaving Vasselheim Heera and the half-elf stayed behind for a moment, and after exchanging an understanding glances, the rogue took some cotton to put it in her ears and gave the rest to Farah, since the monster they were facing used sound as a tool.
With Timpani's Transport via Plants they appeared in the intended swamp, but in quicksand. Farah took some rope and started giving instructions to her friends in order to get free. Heera was the fastest and reached solid ground easily, but the blood hunter herself accidentally sank deeper, and noticed something moving against her leg. Idrin, noticing she needed help, asked permission to cast a spell on her, after which he used Vortex Warp to put her out of danger; as that happened, the old monster hunter noticed that the creature in the quicksand was a dire frog, but Idrin was able to distract it with a cupcake, and the group left. Later, while they were traveling through the swamp, Farah prevented Heera from falling inside a pond, although the tiefling admitted that at that point her pants were already ruined either way. Eventually they reached Josgren's Hollow, the village the missing people were traveling to before being abducted: the place, however, was very deteriorated and mostly silent. Farah noticed the mold growing everywhere was supernatural in nature, and that the air itself was polluted with spores and particles of necrotic magic; she ended up sneezing, and the neighbors present immediately closed their doors, worried about the sound. Shortly after, Igor, the wereboar from the Slayer's Take appeared and started shouting at them, so loudly that soon the local whispers appeared, made him disappear, and attacked the Farah and her friends.
" The Whispers " (RTx05)
When the battle started Farah activated her Rite of the Dawn and shot some of the whispers, destroying them, and noticing that some of the shapes they took were of monsters she recognized, like gibbering mouthers. Shortly after, however, she got poisoned by the ghosts, and started sneezing uncontrollably, making it impossible for her to aim properly; at one point she accidentally shot Frog, but the bolt didn't hurt the monk, since it wasn't the intended target. When the whispers were finally defeated Timpani helped Farah by casting Lesser Restoration. Heera decided to check on Delphine, a local child she had been entertaining minutes before, and Farah accompanied her. They were invited in by the girl's father, who told them that the ghosts had been attacking for a week, and that his family was considering moving out because local politicians like Vaughn Josgren Jr weren't helping; he still gave them some jerky and two vials of Philter of Freedom of Movement.
When the two adventurers returned to the rest of the group the learned that the others had been talking to Vaughn, who told them that there was someone in the local prison that could help them with the whispers. In order to break that person out, they needed a distraction so that Heera could sneak in. The adventurers started proposing ideas, and wondering if Farah could pretend she was someone's grandmother; that made the older half-elf uncomfortable, but when Timpani, unaware of this, kept mentioning her age, it was decided that the two of them would pretend to have a fight in front of the prison. Farah, however, took the distraction way more seriously, and hit the firbolg several times, causing him to lose a tooth, and even throwing a guard to the ground when they tried to intervene; when Timpani asked why she had kept hitting him, even when the guards weren't looking, the blood hunter told him she wanted to keep it authentic, and the firbolg believed her. When the prisoner was finally rescued, it was revealed that he was Timpani's goliath friend, Janet.
" The Hungry Cloud " (RTx06)
On their way to Janet's caravan they spoke a bit about the whispers, and Farah theorized that, if the Slayer's Take had originally defeated a gibbering mouther in the area, it was possible the aberration had returned as an undead whisper. When the group arrived to the caravan they stopped for a bit to take some instruments to use against the ghosts, and Frog checked her notes and asked Farah to make sure she had the name of the guitar right; the half-elf herself took some cimbals. On their way to the whispers' lair Heera stayed with Farah and told her that age didn't mean anything if someone was doing a good job (referring to Timpani's comments earlier), and although the blood hunter appreciated the sentiment, she also admitted she hadn't performed optimally in the last couple of battles; to cheer her up, the rogue tried to do a fistbump like Janet, but Farah, confused, shook her hand instead. They found a circular altar with sharp teeth around and some drag marks, as well as one potion (a philter of flying) that Farah recommended Frog to keep; the half-elf inspected the place and its Abyssal runes, confirming it was the place where the original gibbering mouther was created, and where it was defeated (since the Slayer's Take had left their mark). They reached the lair, and after Farah pointed out that the mushrooms in the area seemed to be the source of the spores sustaining the ghosts, they organized to destroy them; she tried to approach stealthily, but after snapping a twig by accident decided to stay behind, shooting from a distance to one of the mushrooms, that Heera attacked immediately after, destroying it. The battle started, and the main enemy, the whispering mouther, started using its deafening sounds against the adventurers, although Farah kept attacking it with her radiant bolts regardless. Eventually, Idrin put an end to it by destroying the whispering mouther with a Lightning Bolt.
When they returned to Josgren's Hollow the neighbors were very happy to know the whispers were gone, and clapped, but when Vaughn appeared trying to claim credit for the adventurers' success, Heera gave an improvised speech about the need of choosing better leaders; as she was doing that, Farah went to his house, stealing money and a potion she liked. After that, with the politician gone, she divided the gold equally among the neighbors, although she gave a substantial portion to Janet to compensate for his wrongful imprisonment. After a farewell party the Re-Slayer's Take left the village with Igor, and they received a message via seagull about a new job, so they started making their way back to Vasselheim, while arguing with Timpani about going to proper shops for preparation, instead of his messy apartment.
" The Monster in the Mirror " (RTx07)
On their next mission the Re-Slayers went to Shoresight Isle with Timpani's Transport via Plants spell, but appeared on the edge of a cliff and fell; luckily, they were able to catch themselves in time and climb back up, in Farah's case grabbing a root to compensate some of the weight. As they were walking towards the lighthouse they saw a strangely cheery villager, despite the bad weather, which made both Farah and Heera uncomfortable. They met Duderonomous, Timpani's old friend who had sent them a message asking for help; as they were talking to him, another villager walked by, making the exact same comment than the previous one, making Duddy very paranoid, something the blood hunter noticed. They went to the local tavern, where people were acting weird too, making Heera comment with Farah if a marionette might be involved, even though their weapons weren't reacting yet; there they were soon attacked by the villagers, controlled by some sort of invisible ghost tentacles that Farah and some of her friends noticed through the reflections.
The blood hunter used the reflections to locate and strike the tentacles directly, and some of her friends started doing the same. One of the costumers went after Farah and tried to knock her, failing to do so; later, while fighting two guys who were the children of a local woman, Berenice, the half-elf told them in a disapproving tone that their mother would be very disappointed, and those words managed to break the mental control affecting them. After saving Frog from being sucked inside a puddle of ale in the floor (which made Farah realize they were fighting a reflection ghost, causing her to cover all reflective surfaces), they returned to the lighthouse, and suddenly Duderonomous called the building his house, with a voice that wasn't his own, and with three glowing red eyes.
" The Lost Light " (RTx08)
Duderonomous, under the control of the entity (the ghost of an aboleth), manipulated the Magnificent Mansion spell affecting the lighthouse to send the adventurers to different spaces; Farah and Heera grabbed each other in time, so they were sent to the same place together. First they appeared in a dark cave that, after the blood hunter examined with the light of her Rite of the Dawn, she recognized as the place where she defeated a glabrezu during her early monster hunting career. They heard someone approaching, and after Heera hid, Farah saw a younger version of herself wielding a greatsword and telling her how disappointing she was; they started fighting, and the older Farah realized she was being psychically attacked, hearing a whisper offering to made her whole again, so that she wouldn't have to worry about age. The blood hunter, however, resisted, and encouraged by Heera managed to defeat her younger self after focusing her attacks on the greatsword she had never used in her life. Then the scene changed and they appeared in a destroyed village, and the entity started torturing Heera showing her Delphine being scared of her, and tempting her with making her an infernal leader that would impress her family; Farah reminded the tiefling that nothing there was real, and told her to look for the three eyes of the aboleth (the same ones Farah had noticed in the sword). Heera did so, and they got rid of that illusion too.
When they reappeared in the same room as the rest of their friends, Farah explained to them that they were dealing with an aboleth turned into a reflection ghosts, using his powers and connection with the Ethereal Plane to travel through reflections; she noticed that Poogs seemed particularly shaken by the visions of the creature, but Heera indicated the half-elf to let the goblin rest. After Timpani reminded her what she was saying, Farah continued talking about their enemy and their mission, mentioning the possibility of crossing a portal and then joking, telling them that at least Timpani wasn't in charge of that, which made Frog laugh, and made the blood hunter feel proud of the eloquence she had gained with the years. They went upstairs, finding a weakened Duderonomous near the darkened crystal of the lighthouse, surrounded by windows from where the reflections of the ghost laughed at them all, sending a wave of psychic energy that Idrin helped Farah resist with his Chronal Shift. After that, the blood hunter broke all the windows and the wizard turned the light of the lighthouse on, revealing the spectral form of the aboleth. Using her crossbow, Farah (after putting her glasses on) shot at it, causing it to fly away and hide in a well on the other side of the island, leaving a trail of red smoke behind. Then, following Duderonomous's instructions, Farah started looking at his potions and asking her friends for her opinions, until she found a combination that, when the elf drank, caused him to regain his memories.
" The Dark Well " (RTx09)
As Timpani was healing his friends before following the aboleth Duderonomous explained to them that its ghost had been looking its physical bones (hidden inside the wizard's bag of holding) to affect its environment more directly; this made Farah theorize that if the monster got access to its mortal remains, it would become more powerful, but also more physically present, thus easier to hit. They decided to take the bones with them and use them as bait. After going inside the well they found a cave with a portal, and Farah, using the aboleth's skull, addressed it, and it appeared in its ghostly form. As soon as it took its skull, the blood hunter attacked it with her shortsword, but the monster responded by knocking her unconscious as it chased Frog (the one carrying the bag with the bones). Heera witnessed this and called Timpani, who used his Healing Spirit to help her; Farah woke up, but the druid told her to take it easy. After the half-elf was recovered, they went outside, where the aboleth had been defeated.
They went to the sea cave to close the portal the ghost had been using, and as Timpani was doing so, a spectral black finger attacked him, leaving him confused and unfocused, talking nonesense; Heera asked Farah what was that entity, but the monster hunter didn't know. After Idrin determined that was likely a magical disease they tried to bring the firbolg to Duderonomous, but he used his Hidden Step to walk away, still confused, running towards a tree and casting Transport via Plants. His friends ran after him and crossed the portal in time, appearing in the Utesspire Mountains. Recognizing the area, Poogs agreed to bring Timpani to his old home to help him.
" The Curse of Strife (episode) " (RTx10)
Poogs guided his friends through the mountains, and Farah, very cautious, asked him about the area; the goblin confirmed that they were in landshark territory, something she only understood when they reached a tunnel and noticed some of the bones, realizing Poogs was talking about bulettes. When they reached the entrance of the goblin settlement the blood hunter checked for ways to get in, although they ended up using Idrin's magic to do it.
When they finally got in, the goblins of Hug Hive were very welcoming, so much that a very confused Poogs asked Farah if they were possessed, but she told him that the weapons weren't reacting to any undead activity at the moment. They were greeted by Freedom Windsong, the medic Poogs had told them about, and he agreed to examine Timpani, revealing the firbolg suffered from mindfire, an effect of the Contagion spell, and left him with his assistants, assuring the group that with a few hours and the proper ritual, Timpani would be healed; while they were at the doctor's place Farah drank some of his tea, feeling a bit more relaxed after doing it. Freedom guided them through a tunnel, showing them a pillar with a goblin hand holding a cupcake, and telling them how Poogs indirectly helped free his community from the Curse of Strife; when he told her Heera that because of her hopeful personality they should rename the settlement "Hope Hive", Farah, very amused, expressed her approval. Freedom recommended the adventurers to meditate there for a bit, and they did so, receiving a magical boon. Later, after Poogs told them that the Slayer's Take had been there once, Farah remembered they had defeated a mind flayer there once, and started describing the aberration to her friends. Shortly after they got confirmation that the remains of the monster had been gone for only a week, the entire group (and especially Farah and Frog) suffered a psychic attack and heard a telepathic threat, falling to their knees.
" The Rotten Soldiers " (RTx11)
Scouts informed the people of Hug Hive that an army of undead was approaching, so the Re-Slayers decided to organize the defense of the settlement. Farah investigated the area where the illithid skeleton was supposed to be, and discovered some signs of marionette presence, so she warned her friends about them and reminded them how to fight them. As the skeletons started approaching, the blood hunter prepared by finding a high place that would give her an advantage when shooting. When the enemies arrived they did accompanied by three big monsters, the first of them being a rotting walking tree; Farah located in a tangle of its branches the bulb acting as the source of some of the marionettes controlling the skeletons, and she shot a flaming bolt, connecting with it as if it was a harpoon with a tendril. As she was doing so the second of the big enemies (a moss monster) started approaching the place where Freedom was healing Timpani, so Farah made noise to attract its attention. While Idrin finished off the rotting tree, she did the same with the moss monster, although its explosion hit Frog, causing the blood hunter to apologize. When the third and last of the bigger enemies, a mushroom monster, tried to reach Freedom and Timpani too, Farah shot it, but the bulb at its core was well protected; however, when Heera managed to find a weak spot and expose it, Farah tried again, and the mushroom creature exploded in a cloud of spores that hit Frog too.
The leader of the attack, the skeleton of the mind flayer, had been observing the battle for a bit, attacking psychically, and when it noticed that Frog was weak focused on her, torturing her telepathically and knocking her unconscious. Concerned about her friend, Farah shot at the undead illithid twice, hitting both its eye sockets, and defeating it; this revealed the true rotting form of the Timberblight, which the blood hunter recognized as some corrupted form of revenant, remembering the story Timpani had told them. However, before she could do anything else, the enemy retired. Shortly after, Timpani, completely healed, returned to the party.
" The Timberblight of Dead Man's Table " (RTx12)
After saying goodbye to Freedom and his people, they were given miniature horses to return to the tree that had brought them to the Utesspire Mountains; Frog's horse was very nervous, since the Aeormaton looked heavy, and although Heera tried to calm it down, Farah took the intiative and took that mount for herself, forcing Frog to choose a less nervous animal. Later, as Timpani was speaking to them and thanking them for being with him in that mission, Heera tried to encourage the team before their battle against the Timberblight, by explaining that each member of the party represented something that opposed rot; Farah then complimented her by explaining that she brought hope to the team (like Freedom had told them back in Hug Hive). With Travel via Plants they returned the Vesper Timberland, arriving through a tree near Dead Man's Table; when they reached the top Putridius was already waiting for them, and after Farah's immediate shot didn't reach him they realized they had to enter the platform itself to fight him. A battle ensued, and the Timberblight blocked more of Farah's bolts. The half-elf, remembering the gold potion she had kept with her, threw it in the enemy's direction, but it broke without any effect (Farah immediately cursed its maker outloud); she then tried to use a blood curse, failing, and Putridius mocked her, telling her that she was proof that all things were meant to decay. When Idrin Confused the dark druid, Frog, Farah, and Heera launched consecutive attacks at him, with the blood hunter shooting him between the eyes; then a sudden elk stampede (apparently attracted by the gold potion) ran over the Timberblight. Shortly after that Frog defeated him as she was taking the unconscious Poogs away from him.
Timpani healed the group with Mass Cure Wounds. After a brief celebration Poogs suggested to go back to Himblewood to rest, and as they were making their way to the town, they were stopped, with Farah, Frog, and Heera being magically paralyzed. They were surrounded by people of the Slayer's Take led by Heldwell, very ready to kill them; however, one of them, Sweeny (a gnome), saved them by teleporting them to a bakery where Kashaw Vesh told the group Osysa wanted to speak with them.
" The Cat's Cathedral " (RT2x01)
While Kash guided them to the lair of Osysa, Farah was suspicious of him, although after a while she determined that while the cleric seemed tired, he was being honest with them; while they walked she also told Timpani to act cool when she saw the firbolg was getting way too excited for being near his idol from the Slayer's Take. When they finally were in front of the sphinx Farah, just like Heera, refused to be intimidated by her; however, when the blood hunter tried to protest after the insinuation that the Timberblight might not be completely gone, Osysa interrupted her by stating that matter how much experience and knowledge Farah had, she surpassed it. When the sphinx commented that she wanted to check if they were worthy of the attention and name of the Slayer's Take, Farah stated that their own group was better, and that they were good people. Shortly after Osysa isolated each member of the group with darkness and illusions, and told Farah that despite her long life she had always failed to build a legacy, leaving behind her broken dreams and relationships, but she also insinuated that her legend might be starting, if she had the strength to continue; she showed the half-elf a vision of an even older version of herself in a fire, saving her friends but not following them, and Farah commented that dying for her loved ones wasn't a bad thing. When the Re-Slayers were released, Idrin, who was very affected by his own test, threw his magical beads to Poogs, and before the adventurers could react, the wizard crossed a portal to Xhorhas; Farah, unlike the rest of the team, didn't move in his direction, realizing she wouldn't be able to change his mind.
After returning to Timpani's house Kash spoke with them for a bit before leaving, and then the adventurers talked about Idrin's departure, before Timpani suggested to go shopping.
" The Masked Man " (RT2x02)
The next morning, after sleeping for the first time in the new headquarters, Farah woke up well-rested, and took some time to check the building, label sugar as "salt" and bring it to Poogs so he would use it in his cupcakes instead of his normal ingredients. When she went outside with the rest of the group Timpani gave them all some money and left. Since Poogs had insinuated that the firbolg had a date, the group started following, but Farah wasn't very stealthy: the first time Timpani saw her, near the trash, he just assumed she was looking for food, but shortly after he saw the rest of the adventurers (because of the blood hunter) and turned invisible to leave them behind. After trying the new cupcakes Poogs had baked (they were sweet, but because of slug milk instead of the sugar), Farah decided to go for a walk with Frog, and having asked her about the tome of monsters Kashaw had given her, agreed that it would be a good idea to make purchases based on the potential threats found in that book. The monk asked her friend to tell her a story about her adventures, and for a bit Farah told her about how she had sinked a pirate ship by blowing it up. They eventually found a library, but since they weren't allowed to go in as a group and they failed to convince the guards that they didn't know each other, Farah told her to go in by herself, and Frog thanked her.
The half-elf found the store of Dr. Fitzwaggle nearby, thanks to its smell, and she spent some time there talking about her experience with the last product of his she had tried, and expressing interest in getting some more. Eventually they reached an agreement by which he would pay her seven gold pieces for each experimental product she agreed to test, and got several of them, leaving without paying attention to the appearance of the store after she did so. She gathered with the rest of her friends shortly after.
" The Dire Descent " (RT2x03)
After Frog told them about her encounter with Devexian (which caused Farah to wonder if the monk had a crush on him) and a potential mission to retrieve her missing pieces, the group agreed to go. Farah was a bit concern about Timpani's ability to bring them to the Spectrum Gorge, but the firbolg defended himself by assuring them he knew the place; then the blood hunter asked Frog if she truly trusted Devexian, and after confirming it she said that if the her friend did, so did she. During the hour of preparation before leaving, Farah questioned Poogs about his cupcakes, having noticed his concern, until he confessed that he had given one to Bongo and Bongo had fainted while driving a carriage. When the blood hunter realized that it was due to the special properties of slug milk, she asked her friend to cook two batches of cupcakes for the trip: one without slug milk and the other with said ingredient; she stayed with him throughout the entire process, and at the end she kept the sleep-inducing batch. After they arrived to their destination there was a landslide, and a magma landshark attacked the group; Farah immediately recognized the type of monster it was, and although impressed by its size, she attacked it with her glowing crossbow, hitting once and causing it to bleed spectral green magma, which, along with the monsters glowing eyes and its vine-filled mouth, made the monster hunter realize it was being controlled by marionettes. Farah injected herself with one of Dr. Fitzwaggle's experimental products, which caused her body to become translucent pink before turning into goo; Heera was shocked by this, but when she started asking Farag told her if she didn't, she wouldn't ask about the egg the tiefling had brought to the mission either. They started heading towards a mining company building, but Farah was very slow, so Frog picked her up in his poncho and carried her with her, throwing her to safety when the landshark attacked them.
Inside the building they met a Disguised man who, after revealing his true appearance, introduced himself as Xella. Farah, noticing the merchant's interest in Frog, positioned herself between them, until he explained it was profesional curiosity, since Frog was from Aeor. When Xella mentioned his connection with a hag, the blood hunter observed his appearance and determined he had probably grown up near the fey witch until his late teens; shortly after the Re-Slayers decided that they would defeat the monster outside if Xella helped them. During some preparation at a workshop the merchant asked Farah about her jelly-like body and she refused to explained, although she did mention that she tried experimental products and would be willing to do the same for anything of that nature he had. When they descended through the tunnels guided by Xella Poogs asked Farah if she needed to be carried in his backpack and she refused, telling him that she expected her body to return to normal as long as she didn't spread it too much. Shortly after they discovered that the current that was supposed to keep the magma landshark away was hampered by fungal growth.
" The Monstrous Mine " (RT2x04)
Although some members of the group were concerned, Farah suggested to get rid of the fungus to use the water against the landshark, and they agreed to her plan. After an uncomfortable moment in which Heera gave the blood hunter her own crossbow and she was unable to use it, she asked Poogs to put her sleep-inducing cupcakes inside her jelly body, and started moving in the direction she thought the monster would come; the goblin followed her until she told him to go back with the group, for safety. When the landshark finally appeared it bit Farah, although the physical impact didn't hurt her that much since she lacked a solid form, and the vines failed to pull her in because of it; she squished inside and saw Sasha (Xella's half-orc bodyguard) raging while the marionettes drained her energy. With a lot of effort, Farah recovered her solid body and used her Rite of the Dawn, trying to free Sasha by shooting at the vines, without much success, and being attacked by their Withering Touch in retaliation. Luckily, shortly after Heera destroyed the last marionette bulb the landshark was carrying, and both women were freed from its guts.
After helping Sasha recover the group left the mines with her and Xella, and she told them about her experience inside the landshark, and how she felt extremely angry but also very weak; in response, Farah told her she had seen something similar in the past, with a captain that had to be rescued from his own ship, which then disappeared. Xella was so thankful that he gave three magic items to the Re-Slayers: Farah's was a pair of Graviturgy Boots. After the artificer informed the Re-Slayers about strange things happening in a gnomish village nearby, the adventurers left.
" The Befuddled Bravehearts " (RT2x05)
The next morning, on the way to Seedfeld, Farah asked Frog to Identify her new boots, and the monk explained their properties to her. When Heera offered to train Poogs (who was annoyed because they didn't let him participate in battles), Farah offered to help too; shortly after, when the tiefling was talking about her chain mark and saying that she wanted them to kill them if she suddenly went crazy, Farah was the only one who agreed to the plan. When Timpani returned to the group and disapproved of the plan of Poogs joining the other adventurers in combat, arguing that the other three could manage by themselves, but Farah pointed out that in the last fight they had almost died; however, since the conversation was getting tense they agreed to continue later.
When they arrived to Seedfeld they were attacked by aggressive wind gibbons, and Farah, cautious, moved only to activate the Heavy mode of her boots; Timpani managed to persuade the apes to leave (with some assistance from Frog), and when he was done Farah complained because he hadn't asked the creatures about what was happening in Seedfeld. They entered the village and found it mostly empty, finding a muscular gnomish woman absently cleaning the streets; Farah suggested to follow her, and shortly after that Norbert Klott appeared, bringing them to a tavern and telling them that he was taking care of the local heroes, the Mega Magic Paladins, who had become incapacitated after trying to solve the mystery of the yellow cloud blocking the sun over their town. Farah, after learning that those paladins used five special daggers in battle, suggested that the Re-Slayers could wield her; Norbert dismissed the idea, but asked for their help regardless. Frog tried using Identify to reveal what was wrong with the paladins, and when she failed Farah pointed out that it might be a curse, undetectable for her friend's spell. They tried using Lesser Restoration like they had done with Sasha, but it didn't work.
After leaving Poogs behind to take care of the paladins, Norbert guided them to Oogleberg. Farah, using the Light mode of her boots, climbed first, and when she reached the entrance of the cave (covered by a yellow glowing barrier, which her crossbow detected) she activated the Heavy mode and held a rope so her friends could climb more easily, using their earrings to warn them about the holes she had seen on her way up, since she was sure there were cave fishers there. Heera went first, but she was attacked by the fishers, pulled by one of their tendrils; alarmed, Farah tried to help her by throwing a rock at them, but she hit Heera, stunning her. After that, feeling very guilty, the blood hunter focused on holding the rope and when the rest of the team reached the cave too, she claimed that the rock had fallen by itself. Since Heera was hurt, Farah insisted that they take a break before entering, and they listened.
" The Confounding Cavern " (RT2x06)
After Timpani used sap, vines, and Cure Wounds to re-attach Heera's horn tip to her head, she was still angry, but Farah tried to cheer her up, telling her she was glad she was ok, and suggesting that later they could go back and find Xella to fix her horn completely; the tiefling liked the plan, but got suspicious when she noticed her friend's nervous demeanor, which Farah dismissed by saying they didn't have time to talk about it. They all entered the cave, just to reappear outside with some injuries but no memories; Farah noticed they were covered in yellow pollen, and deduced something magical was going on. She, Heera, and Timpani went inside again, while Frog and Norbert waited outside, holding a rope tied to them. However, the blood hunter and the rogue reappeared outside once more, without the druid.
Farah noticed that she had written "the door" with ink in her own forearm, and that allowed her to remember a stone door with a face of glowing eyes resembling the Timberblight. Frog convinced Norbert to let them use the daggers of the Mega Magic Paladins, and Farah was given the yellow one, and managed to activate its properties. After putting her boots in Light mode Farah entered the cave once more with the rest of the group, and they managed to reach a chamber in which they found a portal and a big troll skeleton; the blood hunter activated her Rite of the Dawn as a precaution, and shortly after a very alarmed Timpani came out of a portal, followed by yellow gas that reanimated the skeleton of Ügel.
" The Promised Pact " (RT2x07)
Farah shot the undead troll twice but it dodged and knocked her unconscious with poison, until Timpani woke her up with a Healing Word, which caused her annoyance because she expected to wake up when the battle was over. Heera approached a few moments after that and cast Protection from Evil and Good on her, and the blood hunter noticed a fiendish red light as the spell was cast. Farah shot Ügel twice, hitting this time, but she realized that part of the radiant energy from her attack was being drained by the necrotic magic of the lair; shortly after a powerful blast of poison engulfed everyone but Heera, and Farah was knocked unconscious. However, the tiefling called for the Strife Emperor's help and chains moved Farah and her friends away from danger as a blast of otherwordly fire hit Ügel; the half-elf woke up thanks to Timpani's Mass Cure Wounds, witnessing how Heera defeated the undead troll.
Shortly after Grimm Heldwell became visible in the reflective walls of the chamber, mocking the Re-Slayers and questioning their morality. Eventually Farah lost patience and she and Timpani tried to prevent the wizard from talking through the mirrors (Farah realized he was in the Ethereal Plane in that moment), with the blood hunter hitting them until they cracked a bit, although that didn't stop Heldwell. Norbert encouraged the adventurers, and together used the power of the daggers to destroy the lair and get out of the cave; when they finally reached safety Farah confessed it had been her who dropped the rock that hit Heera, shocking the rogue.
" The Melancholic March " (RT2x08)
When the adventurers saw how the local cave fishers returned to the new caldera Frog asked Heera if she should hit them for her, and she told her friend to hit Farah instead; the blood hunter explained that she had thrown the rock remembering her promise of killing the tiefling if she ever was compromised somehow, and after a few seconds Heera started cackling. She was glad someone took the promise seriously, mocking her friend for not being able to actually kill her (Farah assured her that she was able to do it), and suggesting the old woman was fond of her. As they were walking back to Seedfeld Farah slipped and fell, and although Frog failed to grab her, Norbert was fast enough, and the old half-elf praised his strength. When they arrived to the gnomish town they saw the wind gibbons more relaxed, playing with their treasures, and Farah took some of the jewels that had fallen to the ground. They reunited with Poogs and the Mega Magic Paladins, and Farah returned the yellow dagger to Annika, who cast Prestidigitation on her to clean the pollen covering her.
The next morning they left Seedfeld following Frog's compass, and Timpani carried using a wagon Farah acquired from the gnomes; she jumped on it too, but made herself lighter with her Graviturgy Boots, so the druid thanked her. While they approached the Utesspire Mountains Poogs mentioned how dangerous the area was and, following Farah's recommendation, Frog checked in her tome, revealing the Slayer's Take had worked in those mountains since the very foundation of the guild. Later, when Heera expressed concern about the fact that Heldwell had Gurt's lantern, Timpani agreed to go check on his friend and return the next day. He used Transport via Plants to go to the Vesper Timberlands, but ended up returning that same night after learning the tree used to access Gurt's bog had been burned, making it useless; when Farah criticized that they had limited access to the place to a single tree, the firbolg defended himself by explaining that they had protected and hidden said willow against non-magical threats, although this caused the blood hunter to point out that the Timberblight was a druid like him. Later he expressed concern about Heera's aggressive attidue, and although they spoke for a bit about the impressive intervention she had summoned in the last battle (with Farah expressing interest in seeing a drawing Frog had made about it), the tiefling shared her thoughts about their vulnerable position now that Heldwell was an ally of the Timberblight; Farah remembered the fungal connections created by Putridius they knew about, and wondered if they should try to target them. When Poogs suggested to finish their current task and return to Vasselheim to ask the Slayer's Take for advice, Farah said she didn't trust them and that no one did things without expecting something in return, but Timpani argued that during his long life he had learned that kindness should be appreciated whenever it is found; he also mentioned that just like Heera's, the rhymes Osysa had shared with him had become real, and Farah declared that hers hadn't, but refused to share more information.
" The Restless Retreat " (RT2x09)
After a small surprise when they found a swarm of eidolon ghosts in the area, the adventurers went to bed, and Poogs stayed awake alone for the first watch (since Timpani fell asleep). When it was Farah's turn he woke her up, and shortly after she was hit in the forehead with a small ball of paper containing a message written in Dr. Fitzwaggle's letter. She asked Poogs to stay awake a few more minutes and she walked towards the forest for five minutes, finding Dr. Fitzwaggle himself with his wagon. The blood hunter complained to him about the last product he had given her, and they spoke for a bit so that she could answer all the questions he had about it, revealing he had magical ways to locate both thieves and test subjects with his products; Farah negotiated with him, convincing him to pay her more to test more products, and he agreed, giving her a flask with healing properties in exchange for the product she had already used. When he paid her, she noticed there was more gold than expected, but she told him there were 7 gold pieces missing, which Dr. Fitzwaggle gave her. After that she returned and confirmed to Poogs that everything was fine, allowing him to go to bed. Next watch was Heera's, and she woke up suddenly before Farah told her to; when the old half-elf asked her friend if she was ok, Heera responded she wasn't at all. In the morning, when they woke up, Poogs suggested Goodberry pancakes for breakfast, and him and Timpani made them together, for the rest of the group; when Frog expressed her excitement about the possibility of tasting food, Farah agreed, since food was one of the pleasures of life.
They continued advancing through the mountain pass until they came across a roc nest, and the mother appeared shortly after, furious at finding strangers so close to her eggs. Farah tried to knock the monster unconscious with her sleepy cupcakes, but smashed the food on its chest instead of the beak; however, when the roc grabbed Timpani with a claw Poogs approached and managed to push some of the cupcake inside its mouth, causing it to fall asleep. After that, remembering from her old adventures how dangerous rocs could be, Farah walked away from the nest. As they were leaving the area Heera started weeping because of the stress, and the group comforted her; they ended up hugging, and Timpani made sure that Farah was the center of it, since initially the old monster hunter didn't want to participate. After that Farah approached Heera to make sure they were ok, despite she being the reason her horn had broken; the tiefling declared that her horror hook egg was supposed to be a gift for the older woman once it hatched, but that if she could keep it they would be ok, so Farah agreed. They kept moving, and when they heard some detonations in the distance, they went in that direction. Farah said it sounded like ship cannons, but Poogs argued that none of the bodies of water in the area was big enough for a boat with those weapons. After a while they came to a valley with a solitary cabin and a sign that threatened trespassers, saying they would be thrown off the top of the mountain.
" The Hermit's Hill " (RT2x10)
When they started climbing the stairs they soon discovered that there were hidden traps, and Farah noticed a mechanism that would alert the person living there that one of the traps had been activated, so they all started screaming to identify themselves as non-threatening. They started climbing trying to avoid the traps, but even then Farah activated one that flattened several steps of the stair (although she didn't fall), and Frog activated another and fell down the stairs, getting very hurt. When they finally reached the cabin the Aeormaton was still weak and dazed, and at Farah's insistence, Timpani cast Cure Wounds on her. There they met Professor Alexander Parade, an eccentric dwarf who was doing research in the valley with local resources, and searching for lost Aeorian technology; Farah noticed he was using two Aeorian-looking arms attached to his back, and after asking for permission, she checked Frog's own back, revealing that those were indeed her missing piece, designed to hide inside her own body whenever she wasn't using them. Farah and Timpani noticed that one of Alexander's eyes moved oddly, and the dwarf simply took it out and asked them to point with it to the stairs; they confirmed a bunch of twig creatures were approaching, so they defended the cabin. Farah used her hemocraft to set her sword on fire, and although she scared the monsters with it, she also caused the window itself to catch fire, so Heera had to use Thaumaturgy to put the flames out. Once they were done with that they kept talking with their host, and agreed to help him with his current problem (his broken pet automaton) in exchange for some useful information.
" The Terrible Twigmen " (RT2x11)
Alexander guided them all to a crater where the he showed them how to use the black powder, causing an explosion that exposed diamonds in the ground; Farah took one, verifying that even unpolished it had good quality, but wasn't allowed to keep it, since the professor used them to get food in the town nearby. Shortly after a twigman appeared and stole Frog's screwdriver, so they went to their lair; on their way there Farah carried her flaming sword as a precaution. When they arrived to the area where the twigmen lived (watching them from a distance and listening to their chatter, which Farah recognized as Primordial) they interrogated a pine tree with Speak with Plants, who told them about the "denizen of the hovel", a witch who had animated those monsters. Farah realized that was probably a hag, and Frog confirmed in her book that a night hag had been defeated by the Slayer's Take, who hadn't been able to recover her heartstone. As they were talking the blood hunter noticed that the twigmen were looking at them, so she boasted and tried to provoke them, causing them to hide under the dead willow that was their lair. When Alexander decided they would use the black powder to attack them Farah got really nervous, remembering that even a small amount caused a huge detonation, so she started walking away as a precaution; indeed, the explosion created a big crater and angered the twigmen.
" The Hexed Hive " (RT2x12)
When the battle started, the small twigmen surrounded Farah, Frog, and Poogs, and the blood hunter used her flaming weapons to defend herself, destroying some of the does, although receiving some damage herself; she kept fighting while the twigmen attacked her and Timpani, but when she noticed that Frog was badly hurt, she threw her the flask given to her by Dr. Fitzwaggle, although when the monk drank from it nothing happened at first; shortly after Frog went inside the crater, and when Farah noticed she was missing she looked and went inside too, discovering that the potion had caused the monk to rise out of unconsciousness, but shorter than before. She helped her fight the last of the big twigmen, and when Alexander arrived he finished it off; Farah then took from it a purple cracked gem she identified as the night hag's heartstone. Exploring the tunnels they found the night hag's old lair. Farah, who had noticed a small door in a wall, asked Heera to open it, and she agree, although declaring she wanted to deal with witchcraft no longer; she discovered a small room with toys and drawings that proved Xella had grown up there.
After they recovered Douglas's heart piece and Frog's screwdriver they returned to Alexander's cabin, where he fixed his robotic dog. After a brief period of celebration the dwarf offered them to stay, but the Re-Slayer's Take had to leave. As they were saying goodbye Farah asked for some black powder, and Alexander sent Timpani to fetch it for him; the blood hunter promised the professor that she would write to him if she learned anything new about the dark substance. After that the adventuring party left with their wagon.
" The Decomposing Domicile " (RT2x13)
After they returned to Vasselheim the Re-Slayer's Take had some time to rest, and Farah started using the still pulsating heartstone to investigate about the Ethereal Plane, eventually learning that her blood magic could unlock some of the properties of the item. When Poogs checked on her before leaving with Timpani she told him she didn't need anything, as she prepared to leave herself, in order to visit Dr. Fitzwaggle; in that moment she received a package through her window, containing a potion, an Echo Stone with a message from the potionmaker (telling her that he had created it inspired by her fight against the magma landshark), and a raise of 13 gold pieces (although the recorded message claimed there were 40). The blood hunter was frustrated because she couldn't answer the message, but her attention focused on Poogs when he informed the rest of the team that Kashaw had offered them a mission (to investigate Heldwell's mansion in the outskirts, where people had gone missing). Farah declared she still didn't trust Kashaw, and the goblin told her that even though he respected her wisdom, she shouldn't accuse the cleric of stuff without actual proof; in response, she left the building trying to find Kash, and when she failed, she went to Dr. Fitzwaggle's store instead. She ended up finding it, but as a feed store whose owner had been there for a few days; when Farah realized she wouldn't learn anything useful there she flipped a table and stormed off, reuniting with Frog and Heera shortly after.
The three adventurers found the mansion surprisingly deteriorated, although Farah noticed signs of four people having been there recently, as well as the same type of fungus they had seen during their battle against the bulette. When Heera found more clues about the missing people (they were connected to the Spectral Hand) and she mentioned she wouldn't risk her magic weapon for them, Frog reminded her that they should try to finish the mission with no one getting hurt, trying to use Timpani's voice as she did (which Farah praised). While Heera tried to open a door Frog and Farah checked the second floor and found a book and a "wanted" poster of them that the Aeormaton kept as well as a key (Heera rejected it when they told her about it through the earrings). At one point Farah decided to use what she had learned with the heartstone and activated her Aether Walk for the first time, disappeared for a few moments and locating and taking an invisible necklace that used to belong to Heldwell's mother; Frog was startled by this at first, but then congratulated the blood hunter. When they returned Farah gave Heera the book and mentioned she had found a necklace; the rogue assumed she had checked with Frog if it was cursed before taking it, and both of them told her they had. The monk then pretended she was making sure by Identifying "again", confirming it wasn't cursed and had minor magical properties, so her friend could keep it. Eventually they came to a room with an obelisk covered in Druidic runes, and Heera told Farah they had to share a regret from their past in order to activated; reluctantly, she confessed she had gambled all her money away once (and pointed out Heera hadn't deduced it by herself already); nothing happened, but then Heera admitted they had to share their biggest fears, and not necessarily out loud. Since Farah didn't want to reveal more to the others, she simply imagined herself as useless and a burden on her friends. After the three of them "shared" their fears with the obelisk, a passage opened.
" The Hopeless Hostages " (RT2x14)
The three adventurers continued and Farah helped Heera open a door and deactivate a gas-based trap. The blood hunter, although complaining about the number of portraits of Heldwell they were finding, noticed that one of them was torn and hid another door, which led them to a dungeon in which the Spectral Hand adventurers were being held. Listening to them complain, Farah heard the name of one, Gavain von Eitel, and remembered a pirate captain of the same surname who boasted of having abandoned his family; when she had the boy in front of her she confirmed the resemblance between the two (mentioning it out loud), and remembered that those adventurers had been with Heldwell after the Re-Slayers' own fight against the Timberblight.
Eventually they freed the captured adventurers, but that caused the floor to collapse, and Farah, Heera, Gavain, and Maurice Fiddlefoot ended up separated from the rest (the half-elf tried to grab Frog as they were falling, but she failed). Farah noticed a portrait showing her own visage, but rapidly deteriorating, until it became a skeleton that screamed and stole some of her energy. Heera came to help her and cast Protection from Evil and Good; the blood hunter, noticing the faint chain tattoo caused by the spell, as well as its fiendish energy, shared a look with her friend, but didn't say anything, and instead boasted in front of the other adventurers that she and the tiefling were good teammates. They kept moving, and Farah covered her ears to ignore Maurice while he spoke of Gavain's exploits. They were attacked by spirits shortly after, and the blood hunter used her crossbow to prevent one of them from fleeing, giving Heera enough time to destroy it. After a short rest they finally reunited with Frog, Euphemia, and Dronk, the latter ran towards a multicolored light Farah had recognized as a ghostly lure, and the floor collapsed beneath him. When the rest went after him (with Farah descending safely using the light mode of her boots) they ended up inside a funerary chamber with a mummy.
" The Mummified Menace " (RT2x15)
When the battle started several ghosts surrounded Farah, frightening and weakening her; despite that when she saw Heera in danger she used her hemocraft to summon a shadowy veil to protect her from one of the mummy's attacks. Noticing a strange gem connected to the mummy by marionettes, the blood hunter deduced that it was the source of Heldwell's control over the undead, she told the rest so they could focus on destroying it; she tried to shoot at it, hitting once and cracking it, but the ghosts overwhelmed her again, whispering to her telling her she couldn't save people, and dealing massive necrotic damage. When some of its bandages moved, the mummy's identity was revealed, and Farah and Heera, recognizing Igor the wereboar, agreed that Heldwell was irredeemable (since that used to be his sidekick). Despite all the damage she had suffered, Farah managed to hit the gem once more, and shortly after Frog herself broke it, although that produced a necrotic wave that knocked her unconscious; the half-elf stabilized her. While Igor was crumbling Farah hurried and asked what had happened to him, learning that Heldwell had used his new lantern to turn him into a mummy; she then told him to be at peace, and he thanked her before turning into sand.
While Gavain did some healing, Farah and Heera investigated the room, finding a face representing the Timberblight that teleported them outside. While they were waiting for the rest they checked the house again and the blood hunter stole some silverware. When the adventurers of the Spectral Hand asked if they could get the credit of that encounter Farah argued they should retire and give the Re-Slayers their potions, since they were very bad at adventuring. When Heera suggested the possibility of accepting them as their interns, they talked about it with Frog, and Farah mentioned that she only trusted Euphemia, although she was willing to accept everyone but Gavain (her friends spoke in favor of giving him a chance). When Euphemia approached to confirm her group accepted their conditions, Farah asked her why she was working with her group, and she revealed to them that she stayed because she suspected Dronk could be her son but she didn't want the others to know. When both groups gathered and the amateur adventurers were told they would stay with Timpani (as soon as he returned) while the Re-Slayers did some research, Gavain declared that he was fine with it as long as he didn't have to take notes on a journal, which he found ridiculous. That angered Farah, who defended Frog's habit, while the monk herself, after putting her own journal away, lunged at the paladin with her four arms ready.
" The Cursed Contract " (RT2x16)
Since Timpani was taking his time the adventurers returned to their building, and the next morning, while the new interns were cleaning, Farah started revising her notes about the missions, noticing that most of their enemies had had a lot of rage and ill intentions in life, and those who didn't (the magma landshark and Igor) had someone else's feelings empowering them; when the blood hunter used her earring to call her teammates she was startled when Heera revealed she was already there, watching her work, so she asked her to observe her only when she was working (and not while she was sleeping, for example). When Frog arrived they talked about Heldwell and his necromantic activity for a bit, and Farah shared their discovery. Shortly after Poogs and Timpani arrived, and Timpani tried to help Farah adding his own messy notes to hers, but she offered to transcribe them and organize them first; while the firbolg was gone to deal with the new interns, Poogs gave Farah a Carpet of Flying he had brought from the Hug Hive, and she put it in a corner of her room after making sure it worked (by reading the Elvish runes and speaking its words of command). When Timpani finally returned he helped the half-elf transcribe his notes, since they were in Sylvan, and she couldn't help but appreciate that linguistic choice, since it prevented people from reading them easily; Poogs told them that there was a dragonborn outside that wanted to meet them, but Farah told him to wait, and asked Heera for the book about eidolons, comparing Heldwell's and Timpani's notes, and wondering why such spirits were more present now. When they finally met the dragonborn, Farah wasn't very interested until he revealed himself as an extremely wealthy potential client, offering them a massive amount of gold in exchange for dealing with a monster in the Thorain Tundra, increasing the payment if they killed it permanently; Farah negotiated a bit with him, until he agreed to also add an old skyship to the increased payment (since it would be cheaper than letting the monster destroy his investments) and he gave them valuable jewels as an advance payment. When the dragonborn left and Frog informed her friends that their enemy might be an entirely new creature, Farah wasn't too happy about it; they went to her room, and she told her group they should start implementing security measures in their home, and Heera offered to think of something. Later they received a letter carried by Idrin's hawk, in which he told them about his own adventurers, wishing he could come back already, and in which he told Farah how incredibly valuable she was for their team and how happy he was of calling her his friend. After that the Re-Slayers decided to leave the next day, and the blood hunter used some of her time to set some traps in the building.
The next day they went to the park with warm clothing that belonged to Timpani in different moments of his life, and the druid used Transport via Plants to send them all to the tundra.
" The Fading Frosts " (RT2x17)
When the Re-Slayers arrived Farah complained because they were far away, and Timpani apologized for not bringing them closer to the construction zone, explaining that the further north they went, the fewer trees were available; as they advanced they noticed that the temperature, despite being cold, fluctuated strangely, and the druid confirmed that this was not the case the last time he visited the Thorain Tundra. In the ruins they met their client's employee, Derek (who turned out to be one of the potential candidates that wanted to join the Slayer's Take in Himblewood weeks before, although they barely remembered him), who explained the monster's attacks; the adventurers deduced that it could be an Apex Eidolon, and Farah theorized that the strange magic across the continent might be upsetting the nature spirits. She then told Heera that she really needed the reward of the mission, even if she didn't want to hurt eidolons, and the tiefling, to make her feel better about the money, gave her a ruby (the old half-elf appreciated the gesture, even though she tried not to show it); Poogs suggested that if necessary, she could always sell her new carpet, and Timpani added that he could eventually provide more money from his cousin Pumat. When they learned the monster was angry because its forest and runic stones had been disturbed, they decided to use said rocks to move it to a new location without harming it. After a brief conversation about Wild Shape in which Timpani proved that it wasn't his forte, Farah said that Heera should go find the stones and use her powers to read their runes; the tiefling (after accurately deducing part of the reason was that Farah didn't want to go herself) agreed and left with Poogs. In the meantime Timpani took a moment to negotiate with Frog, telling her that if he showed her a better animal transformation, she would keep the embarrassing drawing she had of him to herself; he then proceeded to turn into a moose with firbolg limbs that the monk drew too, encouraged by Farah.
Shortly after Farah was hit in the back of the neck with a paper ball, and recognizing Dr. Fitzwaggle's method, left to find his caravan. There, they talked for a bit, and when she deduced that she was the only one testing his products demanded more money ("helping" him count until he gave her 45 gold pieces). During the conversation he made a comment about her time in Heldwell's manor, and when she deduced he had been watching the Re-Slayers he admitted that he was a ghost, killed by whispers and bound to her since she found his potion in Josgren's Hollow (she confirmed his undead nature by checking her crossbow glowing in his presence). He explained that he could only move on if all his products were tested, and that he could summon the things he had with him when he died (the blood hunter confirmed it by biting one of the gold coins, which was very real); he admitted that he had tried to give her clues about him being dead but she hadn't noticed (which embarrassed her), told her that he had always tried to talk to her when she was alone so that people didn't think she was talking to no one (since he was invisible to others), and made some suggestions about what to do with him (such as leaving an item of his in her apartment so that he could stay there doing experiments, or allowing him to actively assist her in her missions). Although Farah was irritated, she told Dr. Fitzwaggle that she wouldn't destroy his undead form, but asked for more money and gave him a task: to keep an eye on the Ethereal Plane in case Heldwell tried to surprise them by suddenly appearing there. He agreed, and they shook hands.
" The Stalked Spirit " (RT2x18)
When the group reunited they were all horrified by the strange firbolg-moose hybrid that Timpani had transformed into, so he returned to his original form. They all returned together to look for the runic stones (locating seven in total) but when the time came to use them they realized that they did not want to force the Apex Eidolon to move (since they had no guarantees that people would not invade its new territory), and decided to destroy the construction instead; Poogs consoled Farah by telling her that if she was worried about money she could always ask Freedom for more treasures, since the latter still felt like he owed the Re-Slayers. She drank the latest potion of Dr. Fitzwaggle, which caused her to throw up lava incontrollably at first; however, after a few seconds she learned how to do it at will, and used that ability to destroy the area. When the northern lights in the distance (which the blood hunter had identified as spiritual activity) took the form of the elk-like spirit, it ran towards them aggressively, but after a few seconds it calmed down, sniffed them all, and made a new sapling grow from the volcanic soil.
Suddenly, Dr. Fitzwaggle warned Farah about Heldwell being nearby, and she told the rest of the team. When ten marionette tendrils appeared to restrain the nature spirit, the adventurers started attacking them, with the blood hunter shooting at two and destroying them, as Timpani cast Barkskin on her as a precaution. When Grimm Heldwell appeared to claim the power of the elk spirit, he used magic to paralyze some of them, but got distracted exchanging insults with Timpani, so Farah hit him with lava when he was about to threaten her (to Dr. Fitzwaggle's delight), being grabbed by a marionette in response. A battle ensued, and Timpani cast Freedom of Movement on the half-elf to get her out of the vine's grasp; she attacked with lava again, but Grimm protected himself with Absorb Elements, and counterattacked with Toll the Dead (although her Rite of the Dawn protected her from some of the damage). When Heera attacked Heldwell Farah used the distractiong to hit him with lava again (encouraged by Dr. Fitzwaggle), and then used her hemocraft to create a shadowy veil to protect her friend; Heldwell, frustrated, threw his dagger at Farah (but missed) and she hit him with lava once more. It was too late, however, and the wizard claimed the power of the Apex Eidolon.
" The Broken Beacon " (RT2x19)
Timpani cast Mass Cure Wounds to heal his friends and wake up Frog, although that didn't stop Poogs's pain; Farah examined him, but since she was unable to help, she decided to attack Heldwell with lava again, although he avoided most of it. Shortly after he moved towards the blood hunter, and although she tried to protect herself with her shadowy veil, he managed to hit her three times, knocking her unconscious. Heera then attacked the wizard's lantern, and since she was close to the unconscious Farah, she tried to teleport away with her, but failed, leaving her body behind and harming her with the same flames that hit Heldwell. Seconds later, the blood hunter died because of her wounds, and her soul visualized a beautiful coastal sunset, as she got on a boat. In the meantime, with the assistance of Pike Trickfoot, the Re-Slayers defeated Heldwell, after which the cleric prayed to Sarenrae and cast True Resurrection; she told the others that they had to call their friend back from the dead, and although Heera Agneheart was uncertain, blaming herself for her death (and even describing herself as cursed), the gnome encouraged her to say Farah's name outloud. In her in-between realm, Farah noticed the sound fading around her, and the sun rising instead of going down, as she heard Heera's voice through it; she got the impulse of leaving, but also of staying there, but after remembering Osysa's prophecy, she smiled, and her soul returned to her body. Everyone was very happy, and Heera whispered to the old half-elf that she shouldn't leave her alone with the rest of the group, making her smile (although she scowled when she heard Dr. Fitzwaggle's voice telling her that that had been close).
Since they needed a decent place to rest, Pike cast Temple of the Gods to give shelter to the group for some hours; Poogs was very curious about resurrection magic and asked Pike about it, before checking on Farah to make sure she was doing ok. She confirmed that she was, but then asked why did the cleric do something like that for a complete stranger; Pike answered that it was what she would want a stranger to do for her and her friends, if the situation was reversed. Before the champion of the Everlight left left they gathered, as she channeled the power of her goddess to grant them a boon, improving their health. Later, Farah saw a raven on the altar of the temple, and she was curious and confused until the bird's eyes turned white, and everything faded around them. The blood hunter started following it in the darkness, until she felt that something was watching her; unable to see it, she used her powers to light her sword, and kept walking through the snow.
Frog
Although Farah was initially cautious around the monk, when she recognized her as a fellow candidate to join the Slayer's Take she started sharing advice, telling her to be ruthless, and encouraging her to act with confidence in front of others.
After many adventures together Farah has developed a protective instinct towards Frog (aggressively defending her when necessary), and trusts her judgment. She, however, finds the Aeormaton slightly disturbing when she's "sleeping", since she is completely motionless.

Behind the scenes
Jasmine Chiong chose to play Farah as an elderly half-elf because she felt that not many people played older characters. She was also interested in exploring a character who, as a person, behaved in a way that didn't necessarily reflect her actual mechanical stats.
