Appearance

Yon is described as being a elderly, bald, bespectacled human man who is adorned in scalebearer's robes.

Personality

A formal and sanctimonious official within the Order Of The Platinum Dragon, he was shown to be quite strict in regards to tradition and the sanctity of his order and the city of Vasselheim, admonishing others, even fellow members of his order like Lady Kima, for not referring to him by his full title. He went from cordial to increasingly stern when observing Vox Machina's irreverent and imprudent attitude, openly admitting discomfort at the presence of Tiberius Stormwind due to him being red dragonborn, chromatic dragons and associated entities being enemies of his order's metallic dragons, and curtly warned them to refrain from use of arcane magic, as it was seen as criminal and profane within the walls of the highly religious city.

However, despite his postering, Yon was also shown to be cowardly when faced with significant challenge, as he neglected dealing with clearing out a chamber meant to aid in containing a Horns of Orcus retrieved by Kima and Vox Machina of a subterranean spider creature found inside it. He additionally fled the room where his superior, Highbearer Vord, explained his failure to Kima and Vox Machina while discussing their plans for disposing of the horn, earning Kima spitting in his direction in derision.

Still, Highbearer Vord was willing to tolerate his flaws, as he believed that while his mind was "addled", he was still devoted to and of great service to the order.

Background

Yon was assigned to prepare the sealing chamber for the arrival of the Horn of Orcus. Inspecting the lower chambers, he found that they have been infested with some unknown subterranean spider creature.

Yon accompanied Vox Machina through the city on their way to the Platinum Sanctuary, where High Bearer Vord reprimanded Yon for failing to properly prepare the Hall of the Exalt, the temple's vault. Consequently, the party had to endure several trials designed to prevent the vault from being broken into. Once the party returned, Yon paid Vox Machina for their assistance with the Horn of Orcus.

Lady Kima of Vord

It is apparent that Yon and Lady Kima have a history, as she shows animosity towards him, apparently due to his pompous and prickly attitude combined with his weak character.
