Paladin II Took

Paladin was the only son of Adalgrim Took and his unnamed wife and the brother of Esmeralda (Took) Brandybuck. Paladin married Eglantine Banks, and had four children: Pearl Took, Pimpernel Took, Pervinca Took, and Peregrin Took.

Biography

Paladin was the only son of Adalgrim Took and his unnamed wife and the brother of Esmeralda (Took) Brandybuck. Paladin married Eglantine Banks, and had four children: Pearl Took, Pimpernel Took, Pervinca Took, and Peregrin Took. Paladin lived near Whitwell, near Tuckborough, where he owned a farm.

Paladin succeeded his childless second cousin Ferumbras III Took as Shire-thain in TA 3015.

When Saruman took control of the Shire through Lotho, he resisted and organized a defense against the Chief's men. Paladin Took II died in FO 13, at the age of one-hundred and one.

Video games

Paladin II Took is featured in The Lord of the Rings Online.

He also appeared as a non-playable character in LEGO The Lord of the Rings: The Video Game, only in the portable versions.

Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game

Paladin Took, Thain of the Shire, appears in the Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game. He was first introduced in the 2005 supplement The Scouring of the Shire.
