Lëa-vinya, also known as Lëa the Young, was a Maia and the wife of Tulkas in a very late version of the legendarium.

Biography

Lëa-vinya was the "fairest of the maidens of Yavanna" and, along with Estë the Pale, was considered the "highest of the Maiar", despite never partaking in the councils of the Valar. Lëa-vinya became espoused to the Vala Tulkas at a feast during the Spring of Arda. At this feast, she was also clothed with the first blooming flowers by Vána after dancing before the Valar.

Etymology

Lëa-vinya is a Quenya name, likely of the root lay ("be alive, flourish") and the word vinya ("fresh; young, new").
