History
Makar and his sister Meássë were two quarrelsome before to came in to Arda. In fact during the Ainulindalë they attuned their music to the discords of Melko, however, they chose not to serve him.
When the Valar started to build Valinor, they chose to live in iron mansions in the north of Aman, close to those of Námo and Nienna. There was enmity between the brothers and the other Valar, and only Tulkas visited them, because he and Makar were sparring partners. The two brothers also used to hunt wolves and bears in the mountains of Great Lands. Makar and Meássë took part in the war against Melko and the brother adorned the other Valar with armour. However, in the judgement of Melko, Makar expressed his displeasure with the prospect of peace and was the only to speak for the rebel Vala.
Makar and Meássë spoke against the proposal of inviting the Elves in Valinor, saying that Valinor had been purposed for the Valar only. When the Two Trees of Valinor were destroyed, only Makar took pleasure in the resulting Darkening of Valinor. However, he and Meássë joined the other Valar in the pursuit of Melko who was fleeing toward his stronghold in the north of Arda. Melko escaped their pursuit, but Makar managed to capture and slay two of Melko's servants, returning with a bloodied hand.
